ANHC is committed to providing affordable services. We offer a sliding fee discount program that is based on household income and family size. Staff will work with patients to identify insurance and discount programs that you may be eligible for. ANHC is governed by a volunteer board of directors, with the majority of our Board members being ANHC patients. We also have members of our board who are non-patient community members, chosen based on their interest and specialized skills. Need help with SNAP? 🥕 This Thursday (March 5), Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center is hosting a SNAP assistance event to help community members apply for benefits, complete recertification, and get answers to SNAP-related questions.

What makes this monthly event especially helpful: representatives from the Alaska Division of Public Assistance (DPA) will be on-site to conduct interviews, making it easier for eligible individuals to move forward with their applications the same day.

If you’ve been thinking about applying for SNAP or need help with paperwork, this is a great opportunity to get support in person.

Can’t make it in person? Text SNAP to 907-891-8913 to connect with Food Bank of Alaska for assistance.

Food access is healthcare access. We’re proud to partner with community organizations to help connect our neighbors to the resources they need.

Last week, Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center joined fellow community health center leaders in Juneau for the Alaska Primary Care Association Legislative Fly-In (Feb. 25–26).

We participated in roundtable discussions with Alaska Department of Health Commissioner Hedberg, Deputy Commissioner Ricci, and Lori Wing-Heier, Legislative Healthcare Liaison to the House Majority, to advocate for:

âś” Accurate Medicaid payment for community health centers
âś” Strong workforce recruitment and training pathways in Alaska
âś” Protection of the 340B program to keep medications affordable
âś” Policies that protect patient access to care

As a Federally Qualified Health Center serving 1 in 6 Alaskans, advocacy is part of our mission. Strong policy means stronger access to care for our community. We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate on solutions that support patients across Alaska.

Transportation access = Healthcare access 🚌🏥 Did you know that transportation is one of the most common barriers to healthcare? The Transit on the Move final survey is now open, and three proposed route options could increase access to ANHC—including a potential new Cross Town Route that may include a stop near our clinic.

You do not need to be a current transit rider to participate. No written comments required—simply select and rank your top priorities.

Survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/T2P5MBM

Participation is voluntary. Community input helps shape future transit decisions. đź’™

We were proud to represent Anchorage in Washington, D.C., alongside fellow Alaska Community Health Centers. CHCs like ANHC serve thousands of Alaskans each year—expanding access, training the next generation of healthcare workers, and ensuring care is available close to home. When we advocate in D.C., we’re advocating for our patients and our community. Thank you to Alaska Primary Care Association and Alaska’s delegation for the continued partnership.

During Patient Recognition Week last week, we spent time thanking patients for trusting us with their care. In return, many shared why ANHC matters to them—speaking to access, continuity, affordability, and feeling respected.

We’re grateful to be part of this community, and to our staff who make these moments possible every day. Thank you both for being part of ANHC. 💙

Patient care doesn’t happen in just one room—it happens at every touchpoint. During Patient Recognition Week, we’re honored to share feedback from patients who’ve experienced care across our medical, dental, pharmacy, nutrition, and care teams. These testimonials remind us that kindness, respect, and clear communication matter just as much as clinical expertise. We’re grateful for our patients today and every day. 💙
