Alaska Women's Health PC We seek to provide the highest level of care through our highly skilled health care professionals.

When looking for a healthcare provider, you want one that is trustworthy and willing to work diligently for all healthcare needs that arise. Alaska Women’s Health PC has been forming life-long relationships with patients in Anchorage, AK, for more than 30 years by providing compassionate care with a personal touch. The staff members at this women’s health clinic are experts when it comes to obstetrics and provide a team approach to care by having nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, and obstetricians on hand to serve you. This allows the Alaska Women’s Health PC to give comprehensive attention to clients during the entire pregnancy cycle, as well as childbirth. They are also specialists in diagnosing and treating infertility and reproductive issues. There are many ways to determine what the issue is, including taking a hysterosalpingography (X-ray) of the uterus and Fallopian tubes. Laparoscopic surgery also is available in their office and involves making a small insertion in the abdomen to allow the doctor to search for any issues with the reproductive area. It can take time to diagnose infertility issues, but they are committed to finding the underlying issue and offering solutions. As the only women’s health care provider in Alaska that is certified in Safety Certification in Outpatient Excellence (SCOPE), they are committed to safety and professionalism when providing services for their patients. For a women’s health clinic that is devoted to your personal care, contact Alaska Women’s Health PC at (907) 563-5151. Postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause don’t just change your body, they can change how you feel in your own skin, how you show up in relationships, how much energy you have to get through the day.

When your hormones shift, it can affect sleep, mood, focus, confidence, and your sense of self. That’s not something to “push through” quietly. It’s your body asking for attention, care, and support.

You’re allowed to slow down, ask questions, and ask for help. 💜

Food insecurity affects more families in our community than many realize.

We’re proud to support The Children’s Lunchbox, a program of Beans Cafe, which provides ready-to-eat meals and pantry boxes to children and families across Alaska. These meals are distributed through schools, after-school programs, transitional housing, and community centers, helping ensure families have access to nourishing food when they need it most.

If you’re able, we encourage you to learn more about Bean’s Café and The Children’s Lunchbox, donate, or get involved. Small acts of care can make a meaningful difference for families in our community! 💜

As comes to a close, one thing we want women to leave with is understanding.

Most cervical cancers develop slowly and are caused by certain strains of HPV. Regular screening helps catch cell changes early, often years before they become something more serious. That’s why Pap smears and HPV testing are such powerful tools in preventive care, even when you’re feeling healthy and symptom-free.

Screening guidelines can change based on age, history, and test results, which is why personalized care matters. If you’re unsure when you’re due or what testing is right for you, that’s a conversation we’re always happy to have!

Education, awareness, and prevention don’t end with the month — and neither does our commitment to your care. 🩵🎗️

We’re honored to continue our long-standing support of Challenge Alaska as a Silver Sponsor for their annual gala and charity auction!

For years, we’ve stood alongside Challenge Alaska in their mission to expand access, possibility, and independence for Alaskans living with disabilities. Their work through adaptive sports, therapeutic recreation, and education strengthens individuals, families, and our entire community, all values that deeply align with our own.

We’re proud to be part of a night that celebrates inclusion, resilience, and the power of community.

We hope to see many familiar faces there. 💜

"How often do I actually need a Pap smear?"

It’s one of the most common questions we hear.

For many women:
• Screening starts at age 21
• Some need a Pap every 3 years
• Others may need Pap + HPV testing at different intervals

Your age, health history, and past results all matter. And if you’re ever unsure, that’s okay — asking is part of taking care of yourself.

Cervical cancer screening is about prevention, not waiting for symptoms. We’re here to help you understand what’s recommended for you and make sure your care fits your life.

If you’re due, or not sure if you are, call our office: 907-563-5151
