📣 Registration Fee Reduced for the Peer Power Summit!

We are excited to announce that we’ve reduced the registration fee to just $50—making the Peer Power Summit more accessible for self‑advocates, families, educators, service providers, and community members across Alaska.

This change reflects our commitment to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and learning centered on disability rights, peer leadership, and inclusive community building.

What This Means for Attendees

✔ Full access to Summit sessions and activities at a lower cost
✔ Increased participation from diverse voices statewide
✔ A more inclusive, community‑driven event

🙏 A Heartfelt Thank‑You to Our Generous Sponsors
This fee reduction would not have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors:
⭐ Governor’s Council on Disabilities and Special Education
⭐ Mat-Su Health Foundation

These partners contributed more than $10,000 to ensure that the Peer Power Summit remains accessible, empowering, and impactful for all who attend.

We are deeply grateful for their ongoing commitment to disability rights, community wellness, and opportunities for Alaskans to come together and lead.

🌟 Peer Power Self-Advocacy Summit is coming soon! 🌟
📅 April 24–26, 2026

We’re bringing self-advocates together from across Alaska to learn, lead, and grow as a community.

Peer Power is Alaska’s only disability rights advocacy organization, dedicated to strengthening the voices, choices, and leadership of people with disabilities through education, connection, and bold community action.

At this year’s Summit, attendees will have the chance to build skills, meet advocates from across the state, and take part in a movement where every voice matters.

✨ What to Know (General Info)

The Summit is designed to help remove barriers so self-advocates can focus on learning and connecting.

Peer Power supports many of the major costs to make attendance possible, including hotels, flights, and meals (not including breakfast). Please note: funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is a $200 entry fee at the door or online for all attendees. No exceptions.

Registration is required for everyone attending.
Registration deadline: March 13th at 5:00 PM.

Interested in presenting? Submit a Call for Proposals. If selected to present, the entry fee at the door will be $150 for all presenters.

Care Provider Agencies can support the Summit through sponsorships to help cover the cost for people to attend.

🌟 Exciting News for Our Community! 🌟
We’re thrilled to share that Peer Power is now fully integrated with Zeffy—a platform that truly understands the heart of nonprofits. 💙

What makes Zeffy so incredible? It waives all transaction fees from major credit cards and popular payment apps like Cash App and Venmo. That means every dollar you give goes directly to supporting our mission—no hidden costs, no deductions, just pure impact.

From now on, all of our payments and donations will be handled through Zeffy, ensuring that your generosity makes the biggest difference possible.

When you make a donation, you’ll see an optional tip at checkout for Zeffy, our payment platform. This tip goes to Zeffy, not our organization, and helps them continue providing their fantastic fee-free service to nonprofits like ours. While it’s not mandatory, if you can spare an extra dollar or two, it’s truly appreciated! If you’d prefer to skip the tip, simply select “Other” and enter $0 (or even $1).

To all of our donors—thank you! Your support means the world to us and helps us keep building a stronger, more inclusive community. Every contribution counts, and we couldn’t do this without you.

📢 Important Update: Peer Power Self-Advocacy Summit

We want to share an important update with our community.

We have recently been informed that the Trust will no longer be providing funding support for conferences outside of the conference they sponsor and are fully responsible for. As a result, the Peer Power Self-Advocacy Summit is no longer receiving Trust funding.

Because of this change, Peer Power and our Board of Directors have made the difficult but necessary decision to implement a $200 event fee per person for all summit participants, including self-advocates and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). This fee helps cover essential costs such as lodging, meals, transportation, accessibility supports, materials, and staffing.

💡 Why Saving Now Matters
With registration opening in the next 1–2 months, this is a great time to begin planning and setting aside small amounts toward the event fee. Even saving $25–$50 per week can make the cost more manageable by the time registration begins. We encourage individuals, families, and support teams to start budgeting early so everyone who wants to attend has the opportunity to participate fully.

We understand that cost matters. While this fee is significantly lower than most conferences across the nation, we also recognize that $200 may still create a hardship for some individuals. If this event fee would be a hardship for you or someone you support, please let us know by mid-to-late January so we can better understand the impact.

Our commitment remains the same: creating a summit designed by and for people with disabilities—focused on leadership, self-advocacy, and community.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of self-advocates
