Community Highlight: Fur Rondy Frostbite Footrace, Costume Fun Run & Frosty Paw Dog Jog - February 28

The 2026 Fur Rondy Frostbite Footrace is approaching! Don a costume and dust off your running shoes for this Rondy classic. One lap 2.5k or two lap 5k, age class awards, and a costume contest. Whether you're chasing a personal record, embracing the absurd, or bringing your pup, this Rondy tradition kicks off the festival weekend with energy and community spirit. It’s a great time for the whole family!

Pups are also welcome for the the Frosty Paw Dog Jog! Grab your furry friend and hit the course for a morning of fun and fitness. With one lap around our scenic downtown route, it’s the perfect opportunity to bond with your pup and meet other dog-loving participants!

All finishers earn a fantastic medal! Come celebrate the joy of winter running in Alaska, with post-race festivities and awards for top finishers and best costumes.
