đź’™ April is Autism Awareness Month đź’™

At North Star Behavioral Health, we recognize and celebrate the unique strengths, perspectives and experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum. Autism is not a one‑size‑fits‑all diagnosis—it’s a diverse spectrum, and every individual deserves understanding, respect and support tailored to their needs.

This month, we’re committed to promoting acceptance and inclusion, listening to and learning from autistic voices, supporting families and caregivers and providing compassionate, individualized care.

We had a great time hosting a table at the Native Youth Olympics (NYO) event in Anchorage last week! The NYO Games are an annual Alaska‑based sporting event where students in grades 7–12 compete in traditional games designed to build skills essential for Arctic survival, including strength, endurance, and agility.

Founded in 1971 and hosted by the Cook Inlet Tribal Council, Inc. since 1986, the games emphasize sportsmanship, cultural pride and community. Athletes from across Alaska come together to compete, support one another and celebrate tradition.

April is Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness Month. It was an honor to participate in last week’s Go Blue Rally, sponsored by The Children's Place Alaska. Creating meaningful change truly takes a village, and we’re grateful to be part of a community committed to protecting and supporting children.
