A Double Retirement Celebration at Hillside Family Medicine! Congratulations to Dr. Miriam Nolte and Dr. John Nolte!

After 27 wonderful years, both Dr. Miriam Nolte and Dr. John Nolte have retired from Hillside Family Medicine. Dr. Miriam stepped away on November 11, 2025, and Dr. John has now joined her, closing this chapter together as the co-founders who started it all in 1998.

Together, John and Miriam built Hillside from the ground up into the trusted, compassionate practice it is today. Since arriving in Anchorage in 1996, they’ve provided quality, family-centered care—treating patients as whole people through countless visits, life milestones, and seasons of change.

They’ve earned the deep gratitude of generations of patients, staff, and colleagues with their expertise, warmth, mentorship, and genuine kindness. A huge thank-you also goes to our current and past team—you are the heart of Hillside, and you’ve made this place what it is.
Though we’ll miss their daily presence, we’re thrilled for John and Miriam as they begin this well-deserved next chapter—full of health, happiness, family time, and new adventures!

***Announcement 📣: Expanded Services and New Provider***

Starting 12/02/2025: Hillside Family Medicine is proud to offer comprehensive skin cancer screening and complete skin examinations in our office. Screening is recommended for all patients who have a history of heavy sun exposure, sunburns, or a personal history of skin cancer. It is also recommended for all patients with a family history of melanoma. As always; please call the clinic at 907-344-0200 if you have any questions or want to schedule an appointment with your primary care provider to see what services are needed or would be helpful for you 😄.

We are able to offer these specialty services courtesy of Dr. Ray Robinson joining our team. Please join us in welcoming him to Hillside! 🎉

Dr. Ray Robinson is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine and has over 20 years of experience in primary care medicine. He began performing routine dermoscopy evaluations in 2012. He received his first formalized training in 2013 at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ, under leading experts in the discipline. He has since had multiple additional trainings at Mayo with internationally
recognized dermoscopists. He has over 12 years of experience performing complete skin examinations using dermoscopy on all of his regular patients. Dr. Robinson is now retired from primary care medicine, but he is excited to continue offering this essential service to Alaskans.

Dr. Miriam has been an integral part of our family practice since 1998 when she and her husband cofounded Hillside Family Medicine, providing compassionate, comprehensive care to individuals and families across generations. Through countless visits, seasons of change, and life milestones, Dr. Miriam has earned the trust and gratitude of patients, staff and colleagues alike.

We extend our deepest appreciation for Dr. Miriam’s commitment to excellence, mentorship, and genuine kindness. Though we will greatly miss her presence in the clinic, we wish Dr. Miriam all the best in retirement — filled with health, happiness, and new adventures ahead.

We are happy to officially announce that Dr. Julie Robinson is joining the Hillside Team! Dr. Robinson brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the practice alongside an upbeat, patient-centered approach to care. Please join us in welcoming her to Hillside Family Medicine! Bio: Dr. Julie Robinson joined Hillside Family Medicine in 2025. She has practiced Family Medicine in Alaska since 2003, when she first worked in Kotzebue, Kodiak and Seward. She has practiced in Anchorage since 2008, both at Medical Park Family Care and Arete Family Medicine.

Dr. Robinson graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and went to medical school at the University of Minnesota - Duluth. She completed her residency in 2002 in Seattle, at Renton Valley Medical Center. She has a special interest in women’s health care, from puberty through menopause.

She lives in Anchorage with her husband, Dr. Ray Robinson and daughter Ilsa. Their son Lars is a cadet at the US Air Force Academy. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, xc skiing and traveling.
