🐴Good hoof quality starts from within.

👉Quality forage for vitamin B production and or the addition of brewers yeast or wheatgrass.

👉 Good quality protein from different sources including soaked h**p, sprouted lentils, wheatgrass & your forage.

👉Managing deficiencies esp zinc & copper by using wholefoods or chelated minerals.(testing forage is the only way to know deficiencys).

👉 include EFA sources in the diet chia seeds, freshly ground flax seed, h**p.

ATTENTION Pet Parents!

A chemical used in Milk-Bones, Ol’Roy, Kibbles’n Bits, Hill’s Pet Food and other pet foods should no longer be considered safe for consumption due to concerns about its ability to damage DNA according to a new animal-model study.

According to the Environmental Working Group: “A scientific panel created by the European Food Safety Authority found that titanium dioxide “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.” The panel, citing concerns about titanium dioxide’s genotoxicity, or its ability to damage DNA, based its conclusion on a review of hundreds of scientific studies. EWG called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to quickly consider whether to ban titanium dioxide from use in food."

A chemical that may damage our pet's DNA should not be fed to pets.

Titanium dioxide is on The Forever Dog’s Dirty Dozen list of additives you need to avoid in your pet food. www.ForeverDog.com/about

𝑭𝒂𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒂 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒕
Did you know...

Connective tissue has 10 times more proprioceptors than muscle. These proprioceptors give detailed and continuous information about the position of the body and its movement.

Proprioceptive functions can become dull over time, leading to an increased risk of injury. Bodywork can be a great way to improve proprioceptive input, especially in horses that are aging.

👉There is no better way to add variety and antioxidants into your horse's diet than letting your horse have access to hedgerows/wild areas (walk them down the road) but if that is not possible you can bring it to them.

🌿🌿Do's and dont's for foraging🌿🌿

🚨CARDINAL RULE = if you are not 100% sure about a plant do not pick it or let your horse eat it. (But to be honest most horses will know what's ok to eat)

👌You can either bring your horse on a foraging walk or bring back a bag or wheelbarrow full of cuttings.

🤓learn what's growing around you. Go into your back yard or field and start identifying plants.

🌿Learn the easy stuff, nettles, Dandelion, cleavers, meadowsweet, willow, Hazel, hawthorn.(this one is really key I feel).

📑get a good reference book to identify plants.

🥗don't take more than you need.

✖️be sure it hasn't been sprayed.

✂️bring scissors and gloves with you.

Happy foraging.

USE CAUTION WHEN CHOOSING A FLEA & TICK PREVENTIVE FOR YOUR PET! ⚠️🐶🐱

Popular flea, tick and Heartworm🦟 products have a history of being associated with reactions in some dogs and cats including seizures, behavioral issues, muscular/balance issues, and even death.

One class of these pesticides Isoxazoline (found in products like Nexgard, Bravecto and others) is so powerfully potent that it starts killing within two hours after administration! 🤯 In fact, it kills 98.7% of fleas within 24 hours! Because of this, Isoxazoline drugs now carry a warning⚠️ on their labels in both the U.S. and Canada.🇺🇸🇨🇦 Even the FDA-U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning statement for veterinarians and pet parents. 👩🏻‍⚕️

If you need to use a chemical preventive, or if you are looking for safer alternatives, you don’t want to miss today’s Inside Scoop Live episode at noon!

🌻 No sooner do the trees start to bud than your dog starts to itch and you know it's here ...
🤧 itchy dog season. But if you use these 5 fixes, they may bring comfort to your dog from seasonal allergies.

1. BOVINE COLOSTRUM is in mother's first milk to help calves develop immunity. And it's got anti-inflammatories to switch off the allergic response.

2. QUERCETIN is nature's antihistamine that can slow down histamine production that triggers inflammation, redness and irritation ... and can help stop itching. It's in fruits and vegetables like apples (with the skin), bananas, berries, broccoli, garlic and parsley.

3. RAW, ORGANIC APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, when diluted 2:1 with water, can relieve itching. Dab on problem areas or soak your pup's paws after a walk and just pat them dry.

4. NETTLES have histamines that can protect against allergies. Steep an ounce of the herb for 30 minutes in a quart of boiled, filtered water. Add 1 Tbsp per day per 25 lbs body weight to your pup's food. Or you can make a compress with a clean cloth and apply to the itchy area.

5. OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS are needed to regulate the inflammatory response that causes allergies. You'll find them in cold water oily fish like mackerel and sardines or in supplements like sustainable green lipped mussels.
