Our next storyteller to introduce is Mary Beth Kepner. Apparently, nine years of chasing white collar criminals in Philadelphia with the FBI wasn’t exciting enough so in 2000, Mary Beth convinced her husband that moving to Alaska for “adventure” was a perfectly reasonable life choice.
Mary Beth has also climbed a few hills here and there, including Denali, Mont Blanc, Cayambe, Cotopaxi, Aconcagua, Mount Rainier, Mount Kenya, and Kilimanjaro.
When she’s not climbing something tall or hiking somewhere remote, she is mountain biking, motorcycling, packrafting, or kayaking—basically any activity that requires a helmet, a paddle, or a strong will.
Mary Beth’s story is titled “My Journey to Everest: A Story of Cancer, Courage and Climbing”.
