RFQ: Researcher – Advancing Cultural Heritage & Climate Justice (part-time, firm or individual)
Cama’i. Chugachmiut is seeking a researcher to document the impacts of climate change on Indigenous cultural heritage in the Chugach region, centering on Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and Indigenous data sovereignty. Work includes community-based research, reports to guide a new Tribal Climate Justice Strategic Plan, and support for two federal grant proposals.

Cama’i! New NYO Support Available for Chugach Region schools and villages.
Chugachmiut’s Litnaurwik Department of Education is proud to support Native Youth Olympics (NYO) participation across the Chugach Region.

If your School District or Village Council currently administers NYO for students in Tatitlek, Chenega, Valdez, Cordova, Port Graham, Seward, or Nanwalek, your program may be eligible for support through the Gwangkumciit’stun Cutmen project during school years 2025–26 through 2029–30.

Support may include:
• Student travel to NYO meets
• Coaching (hiring or compensation)
• Local coordination of practices and events
(Specific support will be confirmed with each community based on project guidelines.)

This project helps sustain traditional games — and the strength, resilience, respect, and cultural pride they carry forward.
