✨Happy Winter Solstice✨A day us Alaskans really look forward to each year as the promise of light returns, starting tomorrow. Yin is at its peak today & i know we all look forward to the rise of more Yang energy✨I took this picture a couple of years ago on solstice on my walk at 9:15am as the sun is starting to rise over the mountains & Cook Inlet and the moon is still laying sleepily in the sky. It’s a great reflection of the energy Solstice encompasses.

In response to the recent storms and flooding that have devastated communities along Alaska’s western coast, Alaska air cargo carriers have come together to provide critical transportation support for relief efforts.

For those in Anchorage who would like to donate supplies, please donate to the Team Rubicon location: 1120 E 1st Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99501.

(updated 10/27/25) Requested supplies currently include:
-Mattress pads (for cots and floors)
-Air mattresses (for host homes)
-All large sizes of sports bras (no underwire)
-Crafting supplies (especially traditional, including fabric, beading, crochet hooks, needles, crafting supply organizers)
-Winter boots (small to size 8 1/2)
-Men’s and women’s clothing (Especially larger sizes, undergarments, and men's pants)
-Shower shoes or crocs
-Hats and gloves (Specifically children’s hats and adult gloves)
-Pillows
-Hygiene products
-Sleeping bags

Please do not bring:
-Used clothing or bedding
-Hazardous materials such as propane tanks, butane canisters, hand sanitizers, cleaning chemicals, or lithium batteries
