Village eye wears benson location is permanently closed. We will continue with in home service only as covid cases begin to slow down.

If you need your prescriptions you will need to contact which ever optometrist you saw for your eye exam and they can provide that.

I'ts Back to School time again. It's always better to get eye exams done before the teacher sends home the note saying your child needs glasses. Medicaid/Denali Care covers 100% of your children's eye exam and it allows for 2 pairs of glasses for anyone under 21 years of age per Calendar year. Which means each January they are eligible. Walk-in Tuesday-Friday 12:30-5:00. Need a Saturday or evening appointment (No Problem) Just call 317-5201 to schedule.

New federal program for internet service. Medicaid recipients qualify also if you have lifeline already you already qualify here’s the info

There's a new program called the Emergency Broadband Benefit. Eligible households can receive a discount up to $50 per month for internet service, and up to $75 for those on Tribal lands.

Your household may be eligible if anyone at home:
- Qualifies for Lifeline program or is enrolled in SNAP or Medicaid
- Has a child who gets free school meals
- Lost their job since March 2020

We are looking into finding apps for Android users for virtual try on of the selection and will update as soon as we find an app that works properly. We hope to make it possible to offer online ordering for those that don’t wish to come in to the office.

iPad/iPhone users can download this app to try on the Alaska Medicaid frame selection. This is modern optical app they manufacture the frames. Only modern metals and modern plastic II should be selected for Medicaid. The other groups are not available. Any questions please message or call. Have fun with virtual try on.
