If the holidays feel warm and meaningful, welcome that joy.
If they feel tender, complicated, or quiet - that belongs here too.

Christmas doesn’t ask us to be anything other than human.
It invites reflection, connection, and rest, in whatever form that takes for you.

At Wisdom Traditions, we honor the full spectrum of experience. Healing doesn’t require cheerfulness. It begins with honesty, grace, and self-compassion.

Wherever you find yourself this season, you are not behind. You are right on time.

✨ We’re holding space for you.

As Christmas Eve settles in, let yourself soften into a slower rhythm. This night isn’t asking you for perfection, only presence. If your heart feels tender, tired, grateful, or uncertain, know that all of it belongs.

You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to breathe.
You are allowed to simply be.

Wisdom Traditions is here to support you through every season of your life — the bright ones, the quiet ones, and everything in between.

Tonight, our “Friends & Family / Alumni holiday gathering lit up the whole room, with lights and music, and even more with real stories, real healing, and real connection. 🤩

Our guest speakers were members of our own Alumni, The “Wisdom Connection”…people who’ve walked the path of recovery, resilience, and remembering who they are.

Veterans who came through our Wisdom Warriors program.

Spouses and parents who did the work together as families. Individuals who’ve lived through addiction, trauma, mental health challenges — and now lead with courage.

We did a collective “recovery countdown” — tracking not just days sober, but years of trauma resolution, healing, and wholeness. The final number?

162 years of lived wisdom in one room.

In this season of darkest nights and brightest lights: Hanukkah, Solstice, Christmas, New Year, we honored what brings us back to life: Connection. Always Connection.

At the very end of the night, an elder pulled me aside. She said:
“I see what’s different here. You teach Love. You teach people how to love themselves, so they can love their families again. You are teaching Love.”

My heart is wide open.

Thank you to every person who shared, showed up, and shined. You are the light.

⭐️ Provider Spotlight - Betsy Douds-Paczan, MPAS, PA-C

Q: What do you like most about working at Wisdom?
A: What I appreciate most is that we truly operate as a team. Our patients are the most important part of that team, and everything we do centers around their healing. I love our patient population and genuinely enjoy being of service to them. As someone who works in both behavioral health and medicine, it’s a unique pleasure to collaborate closely with our counselors. Together, we champion our patients and walk with them toward their best outcomes.

Q: What services do you provide?
A: I provide addiction treatment, behavioral health care, and pharmaceutical support. I also offer primary care services including annual exams, laboratory studies, family planning, imaging, medication management, and various in-clinic procedures.

Q: What do you enjoy outside of work?
A: I’m grateful to be an active member of our community and love participating in events that support our collective well-being. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my family — hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, or enjoying any activity that keeps me connected to nature.

Q: How can patients book an appointment with you?
A: Simply call the Wisdom Traditions front desk at 907-770-3656 or email medical@awisdomcenter.com.

On this Wisdom Wednesday, and as we move into Thanksgiving week, we pause to remember the medicine that’s always available: gratitude.

Not the forced kind, not the “be positive” kind, but the simple practice of noticing what is steady, supportive, and already here.

A breath.
A moment of connection.
A softening in the body.
A reminder that even in challenge, something is holding us.

Wishing you spaciousness, presence, and warmth this week.

🌿 Now Welcoming New Patients into Wisdom’s Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) Program 🌿

For 20 years, our mission at Wisdom has been the same: to help people heal at the deepest levels — body, mind, and spirit — with tools that actually work.

KAP has become one of the most meaningful additions to that mission.

Ketamine has been used safely in medicine for over 50 years, and in a therapeutic setting — with skilled preparation, mindful dosing, and compassionate integration — something powerful happens: the rigid patterns that trauma and depression carve into the brain begin to soften. People reconnect with parts of themselves they thought were gone. Insight returns. Hope returns. Self returns.

Clients who participate in KAP often describe:
• Spaciousness in their thinking instead of looping thoughts
• A quieter inner critic and more self-compassion
• Access to creativity, clarity, and meaning
• The ability to finally process old pain without overwhelm

At Wisdom, KAP isn’t a “medical appointment” — it’s a supported journey blending trauma-sensitive care, mindfulness, parts work, somatic tools, energy psychology, and neuro-informed integration.

For individuals, couples, and families navigating treatment-resistant depression, trauma that won’t let go, or cycles that feel impossible to break, KAP can open a door when it feels like every other one has closed.

And as the science continues to grow, one thing is clear: When you create neuroplasticity and pair it with skilled therapeutic guidance, people change — deeply and sustainably.

🇺🇸 Honoring Veterans Day

Today, we pause to honor and express our deepest gratitude to all who have served our country. At Wisdom Traditions, this day holds special meaning as we celebrate our very own Michael DeMolina, a proud veteran whose leadership and vision helped create the Wisdom Warriors program — supporting veterans, and all first responders, on their journey of healing, resilience, and community.

We thank Michael and all veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and continued service in helping others thrive.

To learn more about the Wisdom Warriors program, please call Wisdom Traditions today at 907-770-3656.
