🩷 This week is Black Maternal Health Week 🩷
As women’s health providers here in Alabama, we see every day how important it is for moms to feel safe, heard, and truly cared for. But the reality is, Black women are still about 3 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women in the U.S.
And here in Alabama, the numbers are even harder to ignore. In many cases, these outcomes are preventable, which makes this not just a statistic, but something we all have a responsibility to do better about.
This week is about awareness, but it’s also about action.
This means:
• Listening when a patient says something doesn’t feel right
• Taking time to build trust
• Making sure every woman feels respected and supported
• And continuing to learn how we can provide better, more equitable care
We are committed to showing up for all of our patients—every single day—not just this week.
Because every mom deserves a safe pregnancy.
Every voice deserves to be heard.
And every family deserves the best possible start.
