Over the past year, I’ve had many patients ask about the “Jiffy Knee” and how it compares to the techniques I use for knee replacement.
Here’s the truth: the “Jiffy Knee” utilizes a muscle-sparing subvastus approach, which is the same surgical technique I use. This technique focuses on gently lifting—rather than cutting—the quadriceps muscle to minimize tissue trauma and support a smoother early recovery.
In addition to this muscle-sparing technique, I also offer:
• Robotic-assisted total and partial knee replacements for highly precise implant positioning
• Tourniquet-free surgery, which may reduce postoperative thigh discomfort and improve early mobility
So while “Jiffy Knee” is a branded term, the principles behind it are already built into the way I perform knee replacements—enhanced even further with modern robotics and tourniquet-free techniques.
If you’ve heard the term or have questions about what approach is right for you, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help you understand your options and feel confident going into surgery.
