Happy Halloween from The Garden House of Anderson! 🍭🎃🍫 We have had such a fun, busy week preparing for the spooky season. We all enjoyed decorating our individual pumpkins and showing our artistic creativity. We even experimented with creating marbalized pumpkins. 🎨. The residents were so happy to see their little friends from Kiddieland Learning Center for a visit, games, and trick or treating. The treat was all ours! 🥰

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, our hearts are heavy for all Jamaicans facing hardships and loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with all people affected by the hurricane and all their loved ones, especially our team members who have family and loved ones in Jamaica.

The residents of The Garden House of Anderson enjoyed learning new exercise techniques this week during our Fall Prevention Week. They learned the practice of yoga and tai-chi. We also enjoyed the fresh air, sunshine, and fall weather when we took a nature walk during our scavenger hunt using our five senses. A big thanks to Fox Rehab for also providing safety tips.

The residents at The Garden House were so excited to have some special visitors stop by last week. A group from the junior class at Anderson Christian School came to spend their service day with us. The students took the time to ask questions during a meet and greet and were very interested in swapping life stories. We wrapped up the morning with a competitive game of Family Feud where a lot of laughs were exchanged!

We were so happy to have some special visitors stop by on Saturday morning. Veteran's Last Patrol had a motorcycle brigade ride to The Garden House to shake hands with our residents and to meet and thank our Veterans for their service. Our residents enjoyed seeing and hearing the bikes as well as having prayer with the group. We would like to thank them for their recognition and time. 🤗🇺🇲🏍

We had such a fabulous week on our cruise to Hawaii last week that we had to share a few videos from all of the fun. We learned to do the hula from instructor and storyteller Kaleo Wheeler. We also wanted to give a big thank you to our friend Johanna from Amedisys Hospice for your creativity in making the human slot machine.

Someone very special was there to greet us when we arrived back home and docked in Anderson after our fabulous cruise! Gardenia the Garden House bear loved hearing all about our wild adventure and gave out plenty of bear hugs to all of the residents. 🛳🐻🥰
