It's been quite a while since I've posted here on my feed!⁣

I'm on stories more often if you wanna come hang out -- ;) ⁣

I have noticed a few new faces around here so I wanted to introduce myself and tell you 11 things you might not know about me! 🙂 ⁣

1. I've lived in the US for 4 years, originally from Mexico City. I lived in VA for 2 years and moved to SC in 2017. I had no idea I was going to love this area so much! ⁣

2. I was not a big Disney princess kind of girl. In fact, my favorite Disney Movie is The Sword on the Stone! ⁣
⁣⠀⁣
⁣⁣3. I’m an extroverted introvert – half the time I love to be social, and the other half I want to be home in my pj’s. It’s hard to plan for each half.⁣⠀⁣
⁣⠀⁣⠀⁣
4. I think about my dad often, but I learned so much about life from his death, and feel grateful for it. ❤⁣⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣
⁣⠀⁣
5. I can so vividly remember my (now) husband wearing his black coat and standing at the door waiting for me at the restaurant the night we met. The first 3 words I said to him were: You're tall!⁣

6. I sometimes dream in English and sometimes in Spanish, it's really funny and it depends on who's in the dream! ⁣

7. I've always wanted to learn to play the piano. I guess it's never too late!⁣

8. This year I've committed to being a conscious consumer so I've started lots of DIY projects and haven't stepped into a Target store since January!⁣

9. I love watching documentaries about crimes and unsolved mysteries -- When I was a kid I used to be fascinated with all the investigation process. ⁣

10. I absolutely love ice cream and I *always* choose waffle cone. ⁣

11. I don't eat the pizza crust unless it's really thin and crunchy!⁣

Eat what you want!⁣

I just ate exactly what I wanted for lunch and it was perfectly satisfying.⁣

In fact, I eat exactly what I want most all of the time!⁣

I talk about eating whatever you want through intuitive eating, and people assume they will just eat pizza, ice cream, french fries, and chocolate bars all day long.⁣

And with that assumption, they ask me (or give me a strange look), “How is that going to make healthy exactly?”⁣

The answer to the question (or the look) is that the “want” includes more than just what your tastebuds want.⁣

The “want” includes your true desires for your body and your life.⁣

You want to feel good in your body, am I right?⁣

You want to have the energy to enjoy your life, am I right?⁣

Well, you have to take those wants into consideration when you decide what food you want to eat.⁣

Your tastebuds get a say in the matter, but not all of the time.⁣

I want the energy to go hiking, biking, and kayaking with my husband Sam and that requires me to eat some nutrient dense food on the regular.⁣

And to eat some chocolate croissants, just for fun.⁣

From restriction to food FREEDOM⁣

One of the first topics we address inside my Eat without Guilt Program is the diet mentality.⁣

You know, all of those ideas and beliefs that have been fed to you ever since you were young:⁣

"Carbs are B-A-D for you"⁣

"I can't eat more than x amount of calories per day"⁣

"I should eat this / I shouldn't eat that"⁣

" I'm only allowed to have 2 slices of pizza -- It's my cheat day!"⁣

When you are in the process of repairing your relationship with food, you need to LET GO of all those rules and restrictions that are holding you back from listening to what your body truly *wants and needs*.⁣

I know how hard it is to let go of all those rules. From my own personal experience and my clients' experience.⁣

Which is why I'm here to help! 😉⁣

I've noticed some new faces around here so I thought a was in order.⁣⁣

My name is Bertha. I am a Holistic Health Coach guiding women to feel energized and confident every day through food and lifestyle.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I am all about feeding your body and heart with what FEELS GOOD and am always looking for ways to connect to myself more deeply, practice self-care, and live intentionally. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Some of my favorite ways to practice self-care lately have been:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1. Using my printed planner -- As much as I love digital tools there's something about writing stuff down that brings me joy! ⁣✍️⁣
⁣⁣
2. Baths with flower petals -- They make it feel *extra* special ⁣
⁣⁣
3. My community -- This group of ladies is just AMAZING. We meet every week to move our bodies in ways that make us feel free, wise and wild. ⁣💃⁣
⁣⁣
4. Naps -- Definitely new to this list but they've made a HUGE difference in my energy levels and productivity.⁣

5. Bike rides⁣ -- Probably one of the things I'm most excited about once spring weather gets here 🚲 ⁣

Easier said than done.⁣

Sometimes wanting to be healthy and feel your best is easier said than done.⁣

Life gets in the way! ⁣

Sometimes you get home and are tired from a long day, and end up ordering unsatisfying takeout.⁣

Sometimes you give into the sugar-filled temptations at the office even though it doesn't make you feel good. ⁣

And sometimes you try crazy diets in hopes to lose the weight and feel more confident in the way you look. ⁣

Been there, done that. ⁣

Intuitive Eating has taught me that the best thing you can do is to take it one meal and one day at a time. And learn how to LISTEN to what your body is needing in any given moment. ⁣

Real, whole food is necessary for your health and happiness, BUT so is enjoying birthday cake and wine! ⁣

I'm here to help you make eating real food as natural as brushing your teeth, and eating treats when you *truly* want them. ⁣

So, let’s do this! ⁣
