We’re grateful to Rebuilding Together Hartford, the City of Hartford’s Office of Community Engagement, and Hartford 311 for having us at this year’s Safe & Healthy Home Resource Fair on April 25th.

It was a pleasure connecting with families, sharing information about available care options, and helping attendees better understand the support that may be available to them.

In celebration of National Minority Health Month, we’re joining the Urban League of Greater Hartford for Wellness Wednesday—an outdoor community event centered on the 8 Dimensions of Wellness: physical, social, emotional, intellectual, environmental, financial, occupational, and spiritual.

From health screenings 🩺 and fitness demos 💪 to cooking demos 🥗, line dancing 🎶, and community resources 🤝, this event brings together local partners to support overall well-being and improve access to care and information in the community.

We had the opportunity to join a recent conference in Connecticut at the Newington Senior & Disabled Center focused on aging, where important conversations around care, support, and access to resources were discussed.

It created space for families and caregivers to learn, ask questions, and better understand the options available to them. We are grateful to be part of a community working toward better support for older adults and those who care for them 🤝

When most people hear "home care," they picture an elderly parent or grandparent. And yes, that's part of who we serve. 💙

But it's not the whole picture.

Many adults living with disabilities or chronic conditions need daily support too. Not because of age. Because life sometimes requires a little more help than we planned for. Through Adult Foster Care, adults aged 22 and older who need daily support at home can access a fully funded program through MassHealth. No out of pocket cost.

No having to figure it out alone. If you or someone you love needs support at home, it might be worth finding out what's out there. 🤍
