Hi everyone! It has been way too long! FB shut my original Dani the Doula account down....so after 12 years..... I'm starting all over again. I also have an Instagram account now too....

First, I want to apologize to anyone that has tried to email me over the last few months. I've had several Gmail issues, with not receiving emails, or them going to spam/trash. I believe it is all fixed now, as I have had an influx of emails from June-now..... that I received a few weeks ago😭 If I ever don't respond to an email, please call me, or message me on here. I almost always have my phone by me!

I AM taking on birth doula families at certain Hospitals, Birth Centers, and Home Births. I am ALWAYS available for encapsulations at any location.

As I'm about to enter my 12th year of doula work, I thought I'd reintroduce myself to you all. I've attended over 400 births, encapsulated over 600 placentas, and travel all over Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. I have 5 kids, with ages ranging from 13 to 1. It has been a great year of getting to spend time with my youngest. Looking forward to catching up with you all!

The Geneabirth midwives are so sorry to hear that another freestanding birth center is closing in Minnesota due to "inequitable and unsustainable reimbursements from both state and private insurance payers." Freestanding birth centers are wonderful middle ground for those who want to avoid a hospital birth and want a supportive natural birth, but aren't committed to a homebirth or who need insurance to help with the cost of birth.

We are offering discounts and extended payment plans to families that are being affected by the loss of a Birth Center in our community for the months of January to April 2025. We are homebirth midwives who serve the Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin.

We have hour long prenatal visits, a playroom for the kids, herbal remedies for common pregnancy complaints, 24 seven direct access to midwives by phone or text, (no call center for us!) We have your first 10 days of postpartum care in your home as well.

TWO YEARS!

Two years ago today we opened the doors to the Sacred Space Birth Services studio space inside Dr Jeni Massa gorgeous sunny space.

Her vision for wellness, from conception to the whole family allowed groundwork for something so incredible.

Over the past 2 years we have hosted over 250 families in our education classes, we’ve mentored 10 incredible new and seasoned doulas and practitioners, we’ve shared laughed and hopes, victories and hardships.

We’ve walked through loss, terrible loss, and incredible miracles. We’ve been alongside over 180 families as they bring new life into this world.

We’ve unwinded, washed feet, worshipped our King and brought salt and light to an otherwise harsh world. We broke bread, prayed over families, taught, learned and so much more.

This space is Sacred Space. More than we imagined.
A safe space. An open space. Community. Family.

Dr. Jeni, your vision for families and our community illuminated. We’re so grateful for your heart and so proud to be here.

Today we celebrated two years with our Breastfeeding by Design class - it was a full house.

This is my home birth after cesarean (HBAC). This is a hope fulfilled. This is a dream come true. This is answered prayer with a resounding “YES!”

How do you believe in birth again after an emergency cesarean?

You sit in the uncomfortable reality that maybe your cesarean could have been avoided if different choices had been made. But that’s ok. Because those decisions are past tense, the achy scar on your belly reminds you that you will do anything for your baby.

You watch birth, autonomous birth, GOOD birth. You listen. You marvel at what your body is capable of and what it’s designed to do. You find people who believe in your ability to birth and then you allow yourself to hope and start rebuilding. The stakes are high, because we can’t pretend to control birth and the idea of doing it again is almost too big; not just for immediate trauma and recovery of surgery, but for the emotional rebuilding that comes afterwards.

I believed I was safer in my own bed, in my own home than anywhere else and so did my husband, my midwife and my doula.

•We prepare for things to go wrong, but also be prepared for it to go so right•
