GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN
Kevin Lynn Bramley, aged 52, a cherished son, brother, husband, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 30, 2025, in Andrews, Texas from a blood clot. Born on December 23, 1972, in Great Bend, Kansas, Kevin was a testimony to the strength of family bonds, how deep love will go for family and friends, the importance of hard work, and the power of prayer and faith in our Heavenly Father.
Kevin grew up with his parents, Louie Wayne Bramley and Maryann Bradshaw for a short time before his dad married Melody Ann Mercer, the woman he adored who could do no wrong in his eyes. Mel’s sparkling eyes of love and devotion were just the remedy for Kevin’s heart. Everything that woman did, he copied. Throughout life you could hear him say, “Well Mel does it like this.” With the many losses Kevin had suffered, she was his lighthouse.
Kevin only had one brother, Steven Wayne Bramley. Whom, if you listened to all Kevin’s stories, he tortured endlessly, and defended like a mother cub any time others wanted to kid him. There brotherly bond grew stronger and stronger as the years went by, but their dad’s illness, and later death bonded these two where nothing else life had thrown at them ever could.
Kevin was proud to serve in the United States Army (13 Bravo) from 1991-1994. He was part of the 7th Battalion, 15th Field Artillery, 7th Infantry Division (Light). His time in the military helped to shape his discipline, resilience, and his fierce sense of responsibility – traits he cared with him for the rest of his life.
Kevin married his high school sweetheart, Shelley Rene Clark for a short time, and along came his first daughter, Kourtney Rene Bramley, the apple of his eye. Kevin met his match when he found Christeonna Elayne Smith and started a journey of love and companionship that lasted over twenty-seven years. They built a life filled with joy and sorrow with laughter throughout their voyage. Their love for each other grew stronger with each shared experience, and cherished memory. She worshiped the ground he walked on, and in later years you could find him telling his close friends, she was one-of-a-kind, and he didn’t understand why God chose to bless him.
Kevin married Elayne on June 16, 2000, and he didn’t blink twice before he had a son, Kyle Christopher Taylor Bramley and two more daughters, Kailey Lynn Abbiegale Bramley and Krysten Nikole Annabelle Bramley. Kevin felt “blessed beyond measure” with three more beautiful children. He would look for any opportunity to pull out his walle,t and show his co-workers the “new addition to the family”. He was on cloud nine with how much pride he had for all four of his children. Kevin’s devotion to his family was the very center of his life. His family was his pride, his purpose, and his greatest joy.
With each passing year his family grew. Kourtney married Jared Chase Smith, and together they gave Kevin his first two grandchildren, Khloey Rene Smith and Jared Chasen Kayse Smith of Quinlan, Texas. Kyle married Willow Brianna Denise Stewart, and together they gave Kevin three grandsons, Liam Christopher Kalel Bramley, Finnan Kitt Taylor Bramley, and Cyrus Kane Kyle Bramley of Andrews, Texas. Kevin’s pride and joy was Selena Raelynn Herrera, Kailey’s daughter, of Andrews, Texas.
Kevin had a dedication to his profession which is seldom seen these days. Despite the fact it took him 9 years to find his passion, once he hit on hotshotting, he dove in headfirst, and loved every minute of his 23 years. Kevin made a career of hotshotting, and he not only excelled at it, but genuinely loved it. In the beginning, he worked for places like Rapid Hotshot & Trucking, but later he decided to open his business. Kevin began I-Deal Hotshot almost 9 years ago. In a short time, he had customers loving his hard work ethic, and his go-get-em spirit. Boy that man could fly like the wind to deliver anything, and he would have a smile on his face whether he was pulling up on location or pulling into his driveway. Kevin was happiest when his wheels were rolling.
Kevin was known for his generous spirit, and he was always ready to help. On the road, many times, he would stop at a convenient store to get something to eat, and see someone who needed assistance. It didn’t matter if they needed gas, food, or a few dollars in their pockets, Kevin was happy to help. The entire 23 years he was on the road, he never ceased to give where the Lord led him. “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me” – Matthew 25:40. What truly defined Kevin was the kind of man he chose to be. He was the person who would drop everything just to help someone in need. If you called Kevin, he showed up. It didn’t matter if it was work or a friend, he had no hesitation, no excuses. That was simply who he was. He would slip on his boots and grab his “git-r-done” attitude as he walked out the door.
Kevin was known for his great love for our country, the United States of America, motorcycles, fast cars, and guns. He was the first to dole out advice, and the last to take his own advice. He would have his loved one’s back every time. He was a firecracker - so full of passion, full of opinions, most of the time a temper, but always a heart bigger than anything. He wanted the best for his family, always pushing them to be better, and loved his family in the loudest, most loyal way.
Kevin’s life was exquisitely woven with family, friendship, love, loyalty, and faith for his merciful Heavenly Father. Kevin is reunited with his beloved father, Wayne, his grandparents, Walter F Bramley Sr, and Lois M. Bramley, his aunt, Brenda Mae Bridges, and his cousin, Jeffrey Wayne Bramley.
He is survived by his uncle Walter Bramley, Jr. of Andrews, Texas, his aunt Linda Bramley of Andrews, Texas, and his aunt Marie Mason of North Richland Hills, Texas, as well as many cousins. He has left a big hole in the hearts of his lifelong best friends: Larry Ellzey, Mike Eppler, and Royce Gibson.
Those who knew Kevin will remember his light-hearted laugh, crooked smile when he was being mischievous, and his profound devotion and loyalty to those he loved. Kevin was the kind of man who made the world better simply by being in it. His legacy lives on – in the family he loved with all his heart, in the people he helped without question, and in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, his humor, and his unwavering strength.
Kevin was unlike any other man, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled. Kevin never wanted tears for him to run down your cheeks. We can honor him today, remember him always, and carry forward the love he gave so freely. He would say all he wanted is for us to “pay it forward”.
No public services will be held.
“Dad, I hope you know I miss you more than words can ever say. Life feels a little quieter since the moment you slipped away. I still look for you sometimes in the sky, in a song, in a memory. And even though you’re not here, your love still lives inside of me. I think about all you gave me: your advice, your strength, your care. You never left me empty, you left your heart everywhere. There are days I wish I could call you, just to hear your voice again. But instead, I talk to you in prayer, trusting you’re listening now and then. I hope you’re resting peacefully, Dad, in a place with no more pain. And I hope you know I’ll carry you until we meet again. I love you not just in memory, but in every breath I take.” -- Written by Kailey Bramley.
