Neil Landon Payne, age 54 of Andrews, Texas passed away April 20, 2026.

Neil was born on December 20, 1971, in Midland Texas to Janis and Stan Payne. Neil grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School in 1990. After high school he pursued his Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management degree at Texas Tech University, graduating in 1994.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Neil dedicated more than 30 years of his life to the flooring industry, building not just a career but a reputation grounded in integrity and commitment. The most rewarding part of his career has been the last 11 years spent with the Yates Family.

In his younger years, Neil could often be found on the golf course with friends and later with his son, Landon, especially cherishing the Father-Son tournaments shared with his brother, dad, and granddad. Some of his most precious memories were made at Triple P Ranch, Tyler family cabin in Ruidoso, and hunting with his family. While his children were growing up, countless hours were devoted to time at the barn and stock shows, creating memories that will last a lifetime. In 2021, he and his wife stepped into the bucking bull industry, and in true Neil Payne fashion, he had great success with his first bull, Constant Payne.

One of his greatest joys in life was raising his daughter, Alyka, and his son, Landon. In 2015 Neil married Serena, blending their families. He gained two daughters, Vanessa and Paydon, and a son, Samray. He was incredibly proud of each of them and the lives they have built rooted in strong values and faith.

Neil’s five children blessed him with nine grandchildren: Zane, Hadley, Willow, Haylan, Gracelynn, Sammie, Goldie, Waylon, and one grandson due in August. When Neil spoke of his grandchildren, his face lit up. You could see a love that filled every corner of his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Serena Lee Payne; daughter Alyka and son-in-law Chad Hanchey of Pipe Creek; daughter Vanessa and son-in-law Walter Ratliff of Lovington, New Mexico; son Samray Hooper of Andrews; son Landon and daughter-in-law Maddisyn Payne of Andrews; and daughter Paydon and son-in-law Dalton Kasel of Dublin. He is also survived by his mother, Janis Tyler Payne of Andrews; his father, Stan Payne and wife Rhonda of Fort Worth; his brother, Jim Payne of Andrews; grandmother Joyce Tyler of Lubbock; niece Payten and husband Jeff Joyce of Andrews; great-nephews Rafe (JR) and Braxton Joyce of Andrews; and best friend Lance and wife, Kacee Jones of Andrews. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong childhood friends.

Neil was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earlene and Bill Payne, and James Tyler; his aunt, Dolores “Tootie” Shoemaker; his cousin, Brent Shoemaker; great nephew Charles Brantley Joyce; and his childhood friend, Heath Hamilton.

He lived a life grounded in faith and a steadfast love for God, his family, and his friends, leaving behind a legacy devotion that will be cherished by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Neil’s memory to Steph’s Stems or MD Anderson Cancer Center and kindly invites those attending the service to wear purple in honor of his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer and in celebration of his life.

No more cancer, no more pain, no more needles in my veins. I’ve fought my battle, I’ve won my race, now it’s time to see His face. - Neil Payne

03/02/2026

Agustin Prendiz, a bright light in the lives of all who knew him, passed away on February 28, 2026, in Mexico at the tender age of five. Born on December 3, 2020, in Odessa, Texas, Agustin's infectious smile and boundless energy brought joy and laughter to his family and friends from the very beginning.

Agustin was the beloved son of Fernanda Prendiz of Andrews and his adoring dad and best friend, Leslie Dowden of Andrews. He was the cherished grandson of Jose Fernando Prendiz and was lovingly surrounded by a close-knit family including his aunts and uncles, Sue and Luis F. Paredes, Isabel Prendiz and Alex Ramon, Anna De Luna and Andres De Luna, all of Andrews. His playful spirit will be fondly remembered by his cousins, Fernando, Josue, and April Paredes, Cristian, Gael, and Alexa Ramon-Prendiz, as well as Andrea De Luna-Torres, Alondra, and Adrian De Luna. Though his time with us was short, the memories created will last a lifetime.

Agustin's early years were filled with the excitement of discovery and learning. He attended Pre-Kindergarten at Andrews Independent School District, where his love of soccer, music, and dance became evident. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he never missed a chance to participate in activities that allowed him to express his vibrant personality.

A devout Christian, Agustin and his mother were active members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. His faith was as pure as his heart, and he embraced the loving teachings of the church with open arms.

One of Agustin's greatest passions was the great outdoors, particularly the beach, where he could feel the sand between his toes. He had an extraordinary love for horses, often dreaming of galloping alongside them in wide-open spaces. However, his ultimate fascination was with dinosaurs. Agustin could spend hours imagining the world these magnificent creatures once roamed and would often share his dinosaur knowledge with anyone willing to listen.

Family was the cornerstone of Agustin's world. He especially enjoyed visits to his aunts' homes, where he was showered with affection and engaged in play that spanned from the break of dawn to the evening's starry sky. His laughter during these family gatherings was a melody that will echo in their hearts forever.

Agustin's sweet tooth was well-known, with Spiderman donuts being his absolute favorite treat. His eyes would light up at the sight of them, and sharing this delight with him was a simple pleasure that his family will dearly miss.

As we bid farewell to Agustin, we find solace in knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved grandmother, Cristina De La Cruz-Prendiz, in eternal peace. His spirit, a beacon of love and happiness, will continue to shine brightly in the memories of those he has left behind.

Agustin's life, though brief, was a testament to the joy and pure love that can be experienced in even the smallest moments. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We carry forward the light of his spirit, remembering his laughter, his playful nature, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. Rest in peace, dear Agustin; you will forever be our precious angel.

A visitation will be held at McNett Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2026, from six until eight o’clock in the afternoon. A rosary will begin at seven o’clock in the afternoon at McNett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews at two o’clock in the afternoon with Father Eduardo Tello officiating.
