Let’s talk about this…
What is rest? What is recovery?
Rest- cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength
Recovery-a return to a normal state of health, mind, or strength.
What might this look like for you? Rest and recovery.
Does finding space for rest and recovery feel stressful?
And if it does… what are you filing your time with? Because doom scroll isn’t rest or recovery. That heightens the nervous system and actually causes more stress and anxiety.
We have been conditioned to have to constantly be connected by way of the internet and our phones when in truth it has made us far more disconnected…
Connection comes in the stillness. In true rest and recovery.
For me, my best recovery comes from a walk outside. Alone, with my dog or even a friend. I feel connected in this space and being in nature brings me back to a normal state.
Now that walk might be 5 minutes on a full day or it might be an hour or more … but a walk is my answer.
