๐ŸŒŸ Honoring Our Nurse Practitioners This Week โ€” and Every Week ๐ŸŒŸ

This Nurse Practitioner Week, we celebrate the extraordinary NPs who dedicate their skills, compassion, and courage to caring for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. ๐Ÿ’™

Your work goes far beyond medical care โ€” you provide safety, hope, and healing when itโ€™s needed most. You listen when others canโ€™t find the words. You advocate when voices are silenced. You help children rebuild trust and futures.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to trauma-informed care, your advocacy for vulnerable youth, and your compassion in the face of unimaginable challenges.

You remind us that healing isnโ€™t just about medicine โ€” itโ€™s about kindness, connection, and courage.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿ’™ This week, and always, we honor you.

Happy Halloween! ๐ŸŽƒ

Here are some Trick-or-Treat safety tips for a Spooktacular Halloween! ๐Ÿ‘ป

Halloween is all about fun, costumes, and candyโ€”but safety comes first! Here are some quick reminders to help keep little ghosts and goblins safe tonight:

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Be Seen: Add glow sticks, reflective tape, or flashlights to costumes so drivers can spot trick-or-treaters easily.
๐Ÿš— Cross Safely: Always use crosswalks and look both ways before crossing the street.
๐Ÿ‘ซ Stick Together: Kids should trick-or-treat with an adult or in a groupโ€”never alone.
๐Ÿฌ Check the Treats: Wait until youโ€™re home to inspect all candy. Discard anything thatโ€™s unwrapped or looks suspicious.
๐ŸŽญ Costume Comfort: Make sure costumes fit well to prevent trips and falls, and choose non-toxic face paint instead of masks that block vision.
๐Ÿพ Mind the Driveway: Driversโ€”go slow, stay alert, and watch for excited little ones darting out between cars.

Have fun, stay safe, and make magical memories! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿซ

๐Ÿ’™ Happy Bossโ€™s Day to the Leaders Who Make a Difference ๐Ÿ’™

Today, we honor the incredible leaders who guide teams in one of the most challenging โ€” and most important fields: โ€” protecting children and supporting families impacted by abuse and neglect.

Working in child advocacy/protection requires strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication. And having a boss who leads with empathy, integrity, and a clear vision makes all the difference.

To the bosses who:
โœ… Advocate fiercely for vulnerable children
โœ… Support their teams through emotionally demanding work
โœ… Lead with heart, courage, and resilience
โœ… Never lose sight of the mission: safety, healing, and hope

Thank you for showing us what true leadership looks like. Your impact reaches further than you'll ever know. ๐Ÿ’™

As this week comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to recognize our incredible Forensic Interviewers during National Forensic Interviewer Week (July 7-11) and Forensic Interviewer Day (July 12th).

For those of you that may not know, Forensic Interviewers conduct interviews with children and dependent adults who are the suspected victims of abuse. Another thing you may not know is that you can often identify a Forensic Interviewer outside of work by their use of "tell me more" prompts during a conversation. ๐Ÿ˜†

All jokes aside, we are incredibly lucky to have so many great Forensic Interviewers working in the state of Iowa.

Thank you for all that you do! ๐Ÿ’™
