Jo Elyn Nyman Anchors Programs for Children exist for one reason: to support children and families facing a potentially life-limiting illness.

Whether we’re offering a child the comfort of a pediatric nurse, supporting a family’s unique needs, or extending emotional support to loved ones, we never stop finding ways to care. Following a not-for-profit mission to serve all, no matter what, we’re more than a symbol of support. We’re an anchor when it’s needed most.

Caregivers are the steady presence behind every moment of care.

They are spouses, children, friends, and loved ones who show up each day with patience, strength, and compassion. While their work often happens quietly, the impact is profound.

One family shared this reflection of gratitude:
“Sometimes in life, there are no words that can convey deep feelings. Thank you to all who participated in providing care. Loving thanks!”

Hospice care is appropriate when curative treatments are no longer effective, and the burden of the disease or condition becomes too much to bear for the patient and family. By providing relief from physical and emotional pain, patients and their loved ones can make the most of their remaining time.

Two of the most prevalent indicators that signal it’s time to contact Arbor Hospice are:

🌿 When the focus of treatment changes from curing the illness to maximizing quality of life.

🌿 When pain is not well-controlled or easily managed, and routine activities, such as walking, eating, bathing, and dressing, have become difficult.

As we begin the new year, Arbor Hospice is grateful for the generous support that made compassionate, expert care possible for thousands of patients and families across the state in 2025, regardless of age, diagnosis, or financial circumstances.

Because of this support, we strengthened our hospice, palliative, and pediatric care teams, expanded grief support services, deepened community education, and continued vital programs like veteran care that honor the unique needs and experiences of those we serve.

Looking ahead to 2026, our commitment remains strong. Together with our supporters, we will continue providing compassionate care and essential resources to patients and families when they need it most, Every Person, Every Time.
