Ypsilanti Community Schools in collaboration with local historic African American fraternities, sororities, social groups, and community organizations, is excited to host the Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza! This event will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. It is FREE and open to the community.

Children ages 2 to 11 are invited to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt. In addition to the hunt, families can enjoy games, inflatables, music, prizes, face painting, and special entertainment.

For nearly 40 years, these organizations have been proud partners and supporters of Ypsilanti schools. This event is a wonderful opportunity for families and community members to come together, have fun, and learn more about available community resources.

Hey Fortis families! Did you know that our Fortis Reading Night is TOMORROW, Tuesday, March 3rd from 5-7pm? There will be a FULL Scholastic Book Fair set up for all students and families to visit! All Fortis students will receive $25 of free credit to use at the Book Fair to buy books to take home and keep!! Families are welcome to choose to buy items above and beyond this limit as well. We hope you can join us!

For students trying to make the best financial decision about college there a new resource that should make the process easier.

The Washington Post just launched a new database compiling nearly 1,000 free-tuition programs nationwide, supported by institutional commitments and state policy efforts. The resource spans 2-year colleges, 4-year institutions, and vocational pathways.

It can help college advisors, students, and families better understand options that reduce financial barriers to postsecondary education.
