🧍‍♂️ Ever wondered why slouching often leads to hips moving forward and shoulders pulling back? 🤔 Let's break it down!

When we slouch, our spine curves unnaturally, causing our pelvis to tilt forward. This shifts our hips out of alignment and pulls our shoulders back to compensate. Over time, this can lead to discomfort, pain, and even long-term posture issues.

Often times people think heel strike when walking or running is bad, but it couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, it is completely normal to heel strike when walking and playing sports. Their are some nuances behind when heel striking is okay and less desirable. But to put a blanket statement that saying heel stike is bad and should always be avoided is extremely short sighted.

Just a reminder that an MRI is not the gold standard for determining why someone is in pain. The medical community would have you believe it is.... However, pain is multifactoral and a lot of various factors contribute to painful experiences often times more so then just structural. In fact the really intersting fact is that structural damage could be present WITHOUT pain.

You are what you repetitively do. Behavior is learned, patterned, and rep'd out. As much as you want to believe that you were born with "flat feet" or a "retroverted" hip socket...It's thousands of reps sitting, standing, walking and placing pressure in a common/repetitive fashion.

Squatting isn't inherently bad. Squatting while toed out isnt bad either. But if the only way you can squat is to turn your feet out, then we are starting to move on a spectrum of possibly being more problematic. Take it a step further into something like sprinting. More in comments...
