We're turning 50!

Since our founding in 1976, we have remained grounded in the Independent Living philosophy, working alongside people with disabilities to help build communities where access, choice, and dignity are not optional, but expected.

In honor of this milestone we're celebrating all year long with a series of events starting with our kick-off event!

🔥 Hot Wings & Things Challenge

February 24, 12:00-2:00pm

Put your money where their mouths are and pledge to support your chosen challenger!

Disability Network Washtenaw Monroe Livingston staff members are going head-to-head in a heated battle to raise money for our organization!

Each challenger will participate in 10 rounds of hot sauce, starting with mild and working up to HOTTT, all while buzzing in to answer trivia questions.

DNWML & Disability Network Eastern Michigan are teaming up for a Learn ASL Musical Theatre Workshop!

In this class focusing on learning ASL, you'll learn that music isn't just for listening; it's about telling a story through facial expression and creative phrasing through sign language. And in this 6-week workshop, it's an opportunity for people with disabilities to start or continue nurturing their sign language skills in harmony with new friends. Come to learn and prepare for a sign language performance of an all-group song and optional solos/duets!

All sign language proficiencies welcome. A certified interpreter from Disability Network Eastern Michigan will be partnering with DNWML Theatre Be Director Robin Bennett to present this workshop.

Participants are expected to register for ALL 6 weekly classes and an online performance on March 2 at 7 PM. Participants must live in the DNEM or DNWML service areas. LIMITED SPACE!
