Providing compassionate ABA therapy and practical autism resources to help families, children, and teens thrive across Michigan — with locations in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Monroe, and Lansing. The INSIGHT team strongly believes in collaborating with other professionals, families, and clients to develop effective and meaningful treatment programs that lead to socially significant changes, promoting inclusion and fostering lifelong independent living. Our practice is centered around Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), supported by a variety of approaches to family-centered care. ABA is a scientific discipline that examines the relationship between an individual’s environment and their behavior. It is a nationally recognized, evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Not all behaviors need attention, especially when they're safe to ignore. Sometimes, the best response is no response. Withdrawing attention from unwanted behaviors helps avoid reinforcing them, while celebrating the positive ones encourages more of what you do want to see. ⭐️

Many of us experience overstimulation from everyday activities, but for children on the autism spectrum, this can happen even more easily due to heightened sensory sensitivity. That’s why having effective coping strategies is so important!

⭐️ TIP: Using visual aids can be a great way to help a child who is overstimulated choose the coping strategy that works best for them, allowing them to feel more in control and calm.

Meet Ethan Hall, one of our Behavior Technicians at our Lansing Center who will be starting as a Behavior Analyst in Training soon! 💙🧩

Ethan has been a fantastic addition to the Lansing team this year! From the time he started in May, he has stood out as an exemplary behavior technician who naturally showcases the perfect balance of playful fun and structured learning. He thinks through client behaviors and takes every opportunity to learn new skills. We are so excited for him to begin his practicum fieldwork experience in January, as he works his way to becoming a BCBA.
