Why don’t I accept tips?

Because I believe service professionals deserve transparent and sustainable wages.

Instead of relying on gratuity, I build the value of my work directly into my hourly rate.

Tipping culture in the U.S. has complicated historical roots, expanding after the American Civil War when many newly freed Black workers were placed in service roles without wages and expected to survive on tips.

Today, many artists and service professionals are moving toward clear, gratuity-free pricing as a more ethical model.

Over time I realized my work was never only about cutting or coloring hair.

It was about listening.

Listening to what the crown is holding.

The Anointing Ritual

In many traditions, anointing is the act of blessing the body before transformation.

In this sacred session, that moment happens through glossing the hair.

The gloss becomes the anointing.

A veil of light placed over the strands — restoring shine, sealing the cuticle, and symbolically honoring the crown. The part of us connected to clarity, intuition, and higher perspective.

Before the gloss is applied, we move through smoke clearing, tarot reflection, and a crown chakra meditation.

Space is created.
Energy softens.
The body begins to open.

Then comes the anointing.

A restorative gloss that nourishes the hair while marking the moment of renewal.

From there we move into the intentional haircut — releasing what no longer belongs to you and shaping what is ready to emerge.

Because hair isn’t just aesthetic.

It holds identity.
Memory.
Stories of who we have been.

The Anointing Ritual is for those who want their hair experience to feel like ceremony, not transaction.
