Gena Jorgensen, C-LMSW joins us after an extensive career in Community Mental Health where she had developed a reputation as an expert with families, children, and teens. Kelly Frederick-Castro, LMSW also joins Joy Family Center with extensive expertise. Kelly has experience working with individuals with autism, providing play therapy for children, delivering trauma-informed care, and supporting the unique needs of older adults. It was a good weekend of giving back. Dr. Adam Joy and his nonprofit Restoring Hope Collective donated groceries to 2 single parents in the Washtenaw community. We believe in finding ways to support those in need with dignity and love.

We share this message, not for personal recognition, but to encourage others who can, to help. We believe communities function better when we look out for each other. We’ve all had times we are in need, and there is nothing wrong with getting some help. Kids deserve to not question where their next meal is coming from.

It makes me so proud to be able to post these!

In our field we can’t solicit or request public reviews. So I’ve often said, our lack of negative reviews is often more indicative of the great work we do over number of positive reviews. That being said, it is so lovely when someone takes time to share something positive about the business and our therapists. We are extremely grateful for the review, and extremely proud Ethan is part of our group.
