My Story with My Precious Poodle
Since 2018, I've had the joy of raising a sweet toy poodle who has been my constant companion and source of endless love. She was born very small and weak, and from a young age, we've had frequent visits to the vet to ensure her health and wellbeing. Despite these efforts, she has faced numerous health challenges.
A History of Dental Issues
Two years ago, we had a major scare. My poodle developed severe inflammation in her mouth, causing her immense pain. The vet diagnosed her with a genetic predisposition to dental problems, and we had to make the difficult decision to extract 13 of her teeth, including her lower teeth. The surgery was tough, but it was necessary to alleviate her suffering.
Continuing Struggles
Despite the previous surgery and removing her baby teeth, her remaining teeth have continued to deteriorate. The vet warned us that this might happen, given her genetic condition. Now, she is facing yet another round of dental issues that require urgent surgical intervention.
Trauma and Dental Hygiene Challenges
Since her previous dental issues and surgery, my poodle has developed a deep fear of dental cleaning. She shivers with fear whenever I try to clean her teeth. Because of this trauma, using a toothbrush is impossible, and I've had to resort to cleaning her teeth with my finger. Unfortunately, this method is not sufficient for proper dental hygiene, and her dental health has continued to decline.
A Recent Incident
Yesterday morning, during our walk, my poodle suddenly started whining and holding up her paw. I discovered a bee sting and removed it with a leaf. Worried about a possible allergic reaction, I rushed home and researched what to do. One suggestion was to check if her gums turned blue, so despite her fear, I opened her mouth to check. To my horror, her gums and teeth were covered in inflammation, with two lower teeth very loose and pus accumulating between her teeth and gums. This caused me immense distress and guilt, as I felt I had not been able to take good care of her due to financial constraints.
Why We Need Your Help
Unfortunately, the cost of the previous surgery was around $1,000, and we simply do not have the funds to cover another procedure. She is in pain, and her condition is worsening. This campaign aims to raise the necessary funds to ensure she gets the surgery she desperately needs. Your generous contributions will go directly to covering the costs of her dental surgery and post-operative care.
How You Can Help
Every little bit helps. Whether it's a small donation or sharing our story with your network, your support means the world to us. We are incredibly grateful for any assistance you can provide to help my beloved poodle live a happy, pain-free life.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
