Simple Balance - Craniosacral Therapy and Body Balancing Offering craniosacral and other holistic services to promote wellness and balance in the body.

Craniosacral therapy is form of bodywork used to release restrictions in the craniosacral system (your head to your sacrum). Restrictions can be physical, emotional, or in the forms of toxins. Releasing these, and working with the connective tissue in the entire body allows for balance and well being as well as relaxation. It is commonly used for;pain, injury (acute, or repetitive), migraines, hormone imbalances, balancing during pregnancy, infants, colic, releases when tongue and lip ties are involved, and cranial molding among other reasons.

Hello Lovely Friends! I am happy to announce that I will be taking a limited number of craniosacral clients in February and March for free sessions. As I get back into practice, these sessions will be used to tune back into the skills that I have used to help people in their journeys to wellness.

Here is a little bit about my background and the sessions.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the craniosacral system - made up the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using touch, practitioners release restrictions, which has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems of the body, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more. CST has also been shown to help with the physical components related to such somatic conditions as Post Traumatic Stress, depression and anxiety. (Upledger Institute)

I was also trained in and use Biodynamic Body Balancing that focuses on the myofascial system (muscles and fascia).

What is fascia? Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place. The tissue does more than provide internal structure; fascia has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin. When stressed, it tightens up. (John’s Hopkins Medicine)

My training began in 2012 when I sought out Craniosacral Therapy for my son, Cash, who had undergone two open heart surgeries. Quickly realizing how this could benefit my family I launched into training for myself and spent 100 hours studying with Dr. Carol Phillips of Biodynamic Body Balancing. During that training,I tuned into the skills that help me facilitate the body's natural want to be well/be in homeostasis. It became clear that this was something I could use to help others. I have seen clients for a variety of reasons including problem focused sessions (back/body pain, migraines, TMJ, Central Nervous System Disorders), wellness, pregnancy support, and postpartum support.

True wellness is the healthy balance of mind, body, and spirit. We each have our own sense of balance, which shifts through time and experience, making wellness a lifelong journey. When balance is achieved we enter into flow; a life without resistance.

That quote from The Oprah conference workbook really resonated this week. Your definition of wellness can shift - and that is a good thing! We can make adjustments to stay in flow and keep that balance 💛

After personally battling migraines last week (the first time in my life) I was reminded YET AGAIN 💯 the importance of myofacial work.

My migraines were remedied ☀️with a lifestyle change / reduce in stress and doing craniosacral work on myself. Some cranial / facial releases provided {much needed} temporary relief and ultimately and sacral release broke the cycle of migraines that had lasted 5 days.

Making a commitment to nap or relax at the oneset along with the craniosacral releases was the answer.
