I was born and raised in Virginia, where my love for children and early learning began at a young age. When I was eight years old, my niece was born — on my birthday — and that moment changed everything for me. I learned how to care for her, bathe her, feed her, and nurture her. Those early experiences opened my heart to the joy of caregiving and showed me how meaningful it is to help a child grow. 💛
Now, looking at her all grown up — turning 19 years old in 2025 — I feel so proud of the strong, beautiful, and confident young woman she has become. Her soul is truly gorgeous, and watching her journey reminds me how powerful love, patience, and guidance are in shaping a child’s life. I am also proudly an aunt to six beautiful children, each of whom has added even more joy, love, and laughter to my life. They continue to inspire me every day to create a space where children feel valued, safe, and free to be themselves. As I grew into my teenage years, my passion for childcare only deepened. My mother opened her own daycare business, and I spent much of my time helping her. I watched how patient, loving, and dedicated she was with each child, and I learned what it truly means to create a nurturing space. Years later, when I would see some of those same children grown and thriving — full of confidence, curiosity, and kindness — I felt deeply inspired. I realized my mother had helped shape who they became: happy, bright, and motivated. That memory stayed with me and became my “why” — the reason I wanted to continue her legacy and open my own childcare program. My journey began in June 2023, when I first opened my home as a permitted Local Ordinance Family Daycare. In October 2024, I proudly established my business name as Bright Hands Academy LLC, and by October 2025, I officially became a Licensed Family Day Home Provider by the State of Virginia. Each step has been a dream come true — a reflection of my lifelong love for helping children learn, grow, and discover their unique potential. At Bright Hands Academy, I am committed to creating a safe, joyful, and nurturing environment where every child feels loved, valued, and inspired — just as I once saw in my mother’s care. Looking ahead, I’m excited to see how much our community will continue to grow and support one another. My long-term goal is to expand Bright Hands Academy into a full early learning center, offering even more opportunities for children and families to thrive together. 🌟
