The Department of Aging and Disabilities Announces Upcoming Holiday Closures.

Offices and Customer Service Centers Will Be Closed On Thursday, December 25th and Friday, December 26th, 2025
and then again on Thursday, January 1st and Friday, January 2nd, 2026.

Temporary-Winter Closure Schedule for All Anne Arundel County Senior Activity Centers

The Winter Closure Schedule is
Wednesday, December 24, 2025 - January 4, 2026, for the following senior activity centers: Arnold, Brooklyn Park, O'Malley, Pasadena, Severn, and South County. They will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026.

The Renovation Closure Schedule is
Monday, December 22, 2025 - Friday, January 23, 2026, for the Annapolis and Pascal Senior Activity Centers. They will reopen on Monday, January 26, 2026.

November is National Family Caregiver Month

This month emphasizes the importance of caregivers in communities. Family caregivers, who care for their loved ones, need access to reliable resources and support. The theme “Plug-In To Care” aims to connect them with essential support networks and educational resources.

Anne Arundel County’s National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP) offers caregiver educational workshops, support groups, and respite care referrals to help caregivers best support themselves and their loved ones.

Earlier this week, County Executive Steuart Pittman announced plans to provide $500,000 in emergency funds to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank to fund food distributions for residents impacted by the federal government shutdown and the delay of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

Food distributions will begin next week on Monday, November 10th, and take place at four locations throughout the county. Distribution locations will be open from 3:00 - 6:00 PM or until food runs out. Residents will not need to show proof of need or exit their vehicle as the distribution site will operate like a mobile drive-thru.
