This patient was bothered by the asymmetry between her eyes. She had done Botox elsewhere and initially came in to discuss upper eyelid surgery. During her consultation I showed her how her brows were also impacting her eye shape.

We did an upper blepharoplasty and browlift and to help with the persistent difference in muscle activity, I did some Dysport at 4 weeks post-op. Her brows are now more symmetric and her eyes are more evenly sized.

Ptosis vs. Heavy Eyelids: What’s the difference?
Ptosis is when the upper eyelid muscle weakens and the lid actually drops lower than normal. Heavy eyelids, on the other hand, come from excess skin or fullness weighing the lid down. They may look similar, but the cause (and treatment!) is different.
