Embryo: Weeks 0–8, the earliest stage of life.
Fetus: After week 8, growing recognizable body features.

Embryos in surrogacy & IVF:

Can be frozen for later use
Not all implant successfully
Essential for helping families build their dreams

Surrogacy isn’t just a decision, it’s a calling!

Many of our gestational carriers share that they’ve been thinking, researching, and preparing for years before taking the first step. For them, it’s not “let’s do this,” it’s a heartfelt journey of purpose and giving. 💛

Once they experience the joy of helping a family grow, it often becomes something they feel called to do again—until they’re told they can’t. Surrogacy is about more than creating life; it’s about compassion, commitment, and community.

Surrogacy Awareness Month Puzzle Series – Piece #4 🧩

Piece #4 is here! 🎉

Let’s break it down: What is an embryo, and how does it form?

An embryo is the earliest stage of development, beginning when a s***m and egg come together to create new life. From there, it goes through incredible steps—fertilization, cell division, and blastocyst formation—before reaching the stage where it can implant in the uterus.

In surrogacy, embryos are created through IVF and carefully transferred to the surrogate, who carries the pregnancy. You’ll also learn how genetic screening (PGT) can help ensure the healthiest start possible.

During Surrogacy Awareness Month, we’re continuing the conversation about the many paths that lead families to surrogacy. 💛

For many couples and individuals, the dream of becoming a parent doesn’t always happen the way they imagined. Medical conditions, infertility, or pregnancy loss can make carrying a child impossible or very difficult.

But thanks to advances in reproductive science, surrogacy has opened a beautiful path to parenthood. Through IVF, intended parents may still be able to have a biological connection to their child while a gestational carrier helps carry the pregnancy.

And behind every surrogacy journey is something truly powerful: women who choose to help others build their families. Gestational carriers are compassionate, generous, and deeply motivated by the opportunity to change someone’s life forever.

Surrogacy is more than a medical process, it’s a partnership built on trust, empathy, and the shared hope of welcoming a new life into the world. 💛
