There are lots of methods today to lose weight, sometimes very rapidly.
1. Weight loss is frequently not the real goal, fat loss is.
2. Resistance training is still the #1 method for sustainable reduction in body fat, combined with proper diet.
With that said, many folks are getting on the GLP-1 train and there are some things they should know. You still need to change your eating habits with the help of a Health, Wellness, and Nutrition Coach. If you don't, you will likely waste a lot of time and money, not to mention the mental aspect of not reaching or sustaining your ideal goal, again. Furthermore, if you don't eat correctly and establish a resistance training protocol designed for your specific situation, you stand to lose a lot of valuable skeletal muscle. The amount muscle an individual has is still the #1 predictor of that individuals longevity. That's right folks, there is still no free pass. Modern medicine continues to make many things easier for us, but there is nothing yet to replace a healthy diet and physical activity. So we talk about barriers this week. I don't have time to get to the gym or meal prep, I can't afford it, I'm too old or too out of shape, I can't find balance or can't seem to stick with it.
Here's what we learned. We find the time and make it a priority if we want change. We can pay now or pay later for meds and Dr. visits, and finding balance and sticking with it is always going to be a thing. We all struggled with it at some point because life is hard and busy. Give yourself a break and give your wellness the attention it deserves!!

In the ongoing quest for balance, we ate well, stayed active, had fun, and Charlie ran her 1st 5K while we were in OBX! Balance with health, fitness, work, and enjoying life is something I believe I will always be working to improve. How about you?
Lack of balance is not a legit excuse for not being active or working out. Millions of extremely busy people find a way to fit exercise into their schedule because they make it a priority. So, make it a priority.!
