UPDATE: Temporary Lane Closures – Harness Creek Road & Spa Road

As the construction project moves forward, here is an update on the next phase of work and what residents can expect.

Crews are now on the final part of Harness Creek Road installing sewer lines — a detailed process that takes time to complete properly. A few days of tree clearing are also included in this phase.

Following work on Harness Creek Road, crews will shift to Spa Road, continuing toward the construction site.

What to expect:
- Work hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily
- Flagmen are on site directing traffic at all times
- Estimated duration: 6–7 weeks

Once school closes, crews will work on the reconstruction of Spa Road through the summer months.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and use caution in the work zone. Thank you for your patience as this project moves forward.

Work continues on schedule at The Village at Providence Point, with tree clearing wrapping up and underground utility work getting underway. See what the team has been up to in our latest construction update.

Work remains on schedule at the site, with utility installation underway and reforestation planning potentially moving ahead of the original timeline.

Initial Site Work Nearing Completion; Underground Utilities Underway

Over the past several weeks, crews have completed land clearing and are well into grading and other site preparation work. Heavy equipment, including bulldozers and soil compactors, have been operating across the full footprint to bring the ground to engineered specifications.

Crews have also begun installing sanitary sewer lines. This involves digging trenches, setting precast concrete manholes and connecting PVC pipe underground. All underground utility work must be completed and inspected before building foundations can be placed above it.

Later this month, the project is expected to shift above ground, with crews beginning to form and pour concrete footings and foundation walls, followed by slab floors. These structural elements will mark the first above-ground progress and the beginning of vertical construction for the community. Temporary Lane Closures on Harness Creek Road

Beginning Monday, March 2 at 9 a.m., crews will begin installing sewer lines as part of The Village at Providence Point construction project.

This work will require temporary lane closures on Harness Creek Road, from the pump station to the stop sign at Spa Road.

🔹 Work hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily
🔹 Only one lane will be closed at a time
🔹 Traffic will be directed by on-site personnel
🔹 Work is expected to last 5–7 days (approximately March 2–March 10)

Once work on Harness Creek Road is complete, a similar single-lane closure will take place on Spa Road for approximately 5–7 working days, also between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Please allow extra travel time and use caution in the work zone. Thank you for your patience.

Last Sunday we hosted a reception at Maryland Hall as the Naptown Philharmonic presented Legends & Landscapes. It was a multifaceted performance featuring dance, piano and orchestral music, with a special pre-performance meet and greet with members of the orchestra and future residents of Providence Point.
