Shockwave therapy can address damaged tendons, reduce inflammation, break down scar tissue, and encourage cell repair. It is a safe, effective, and non-invasive treatment option for tennis elbow. At Synergy Health, Dr. Timothy J. Brennan may recommend that you undergo shockwave therapy in Annville, PA, if you have tennis elbow symptoms that haven’t responded to other treatments, and want to avoid painkillers and invasive procedures. Here are some of the signs you should consider scheduling an appointment to discuss shockwave treatment...

During this event we’ll discuss:

• how shockwave therapy works
• what types of conditions it may help
• who tends to be a good candidate
• what to expect from treatment

This is where most people either keep improving… or slide backward.

Once things start feeling better, it’s easy to assume the problem is fully resolved.

Activity increases.
You feel good.
You get back into your normal routine.

But underneath, the body is often still in the process of rebuilding proper function.

That’s why consistency matters.

At Synergy Health, the goal isn’t just to get someone out of pain — it’s to improve function enough that the issue is less likely to keep coming back.

For some patients, that means continuing care for a short period to fully stabilize the area.
For others, especially with more chronic or structural issues, it may involve a maintenance approach over time.

It’s not about doing more than necessary — it’s about doing enough to make the progress last.

If you’ve started feeling better but aren’t quite where you want to be yet, this is usually the most important phase to stay consistent.

Two different problems. Two different approaches. One visit.

In this video, we’re using Shockwave Therapy and MLS Laser Therapy at the same time to address two separate areas.

Each therapy has a different role:

• Shockwave Therapy is typically used for more stubborn, long-standing tissue issues
• MLS Laser Therapy is often used to help calm inflammation and support recovery in more irritated or acute areas

When appropriate, we can combine therapies like this to treat multiple issues efficiently in a single visit.

It’s not something you see everywhere — but when you have the ability to match the right tools to the right problem, it changes how care can be delivered.

The patient remains comfortable throughout, and it allows us to make better use of time while still addressing what the body needs.

At Synergy Health, the focus is always on matching the right approach to the problem — not forcing everything into one type of treatment.

📞 Call (717) 867-4000 or ask us about it at your next visit.

We’re also hosting a Shockwave Therapy Event this month if you’d like to learn more and see if it may be appropriate for you. Sign up here: https://www.synergyhc.net/events

What Happens When You Keep Working Around It?

Most people don’t stop when something starts bothering them.

They adjust.

They change how they move, avoid certain positions, or push through it when they can.

And for a while, that works.

But what’s often happening underneath is the body is finding a way to function around the problem instead of resolving it.

Movement changes.
Load shifts.
Certain tissues start doing more than they should.

Over time, that can lead to:

• increased strain in surrounding areas
• reduced efficiency with movement
• symptoms that become more consistent instead of occasional

At Synergy Health, we take a step back and look at what’s actually not functioning correctly.

From there, we determine what approach makes sense — whether that’s shockwave, laser, chiropractic, massage, or a combination — and build a plan aimed at restoring normal function as much as possible.

In some cases, that also means temporarily modifying activity so the area has a chance to improve instead of constantly being re-aggravated.

If something has been lingering and you’ve been working around it, it’s usually a sign the underlying issue hasn’t been fully addressed.

March Madness isn’t just for basketball — it’s a great time to build a stronger foundation.

As activity increases this spring, the way your body absorbs force and distributes movement matters more than most people realize. Custom orthotics help improve alignment, reduce stress on joints, and support proper mechanics — which can make a significant difference for chronic issues like foot pain, knee discomfort, hip imbalance, and even low back problems.

For a limited time, we’re offering any 2 orthotic types, or an orthotic + summer sandal for $469 (save up to $135).

If you’ve been dealing with something that keeps coming back, this is one of the simplest ways to support the work we’re already doing in the office.

Stop by the front desk to order or ask us if orthotics would be a good fit for you.

This is the time of year when people start doing more.

Golf courses open.
Running trails fill up.
Outdoor projects begin.

After a long winter, people naturally become more active.

That’s when small problems can start to show up.

Many people try to push through it.

But when discomfort keeps appearing with activity, it’s often a sign that something never fully healed or the body has developed compensation patterns.

At Synergy Health, our approach is to identify the underlying cause of the issue and determine which therapies may help restore normal function.

Depending on the situation, this may include treatments such as shockwave therapy, MLS laser therapy, chiropractic care, or massage therapy.

The goal is to improve tissue health, reduce compensation patterns, and help the body return as close as possible to normal function.

In some cases activity may need to be temporarily modified while healing occurs.
In others, ongoing care may be helpful for conditions that naturally recur over time.

If something has started bothering you as your activity increases this spring, it’s often best to address it early before it begins limiting what you’re able to do.

Have you felt mentally foggy lately?

Many people tell us that toward the end of winter they start noticing things like:

• Brain fog
• Trouble focusing
• Recurring headaches or migraines
• Poor sleep
• Mental fatigue
• Just feeling “off”

When the brain’s signaling becomes overstimulated or out of balance, it can affect how clearly and efficiently the brain functions.

Our **Neuro Therapy** helps calm and regulate the brain’s electrical activity so communication within the brain works more smoothly.

Patients often report:
• Clearer thinking
• Better focus
• Improved sleep
• Fewer headaches
• More mental energy

This treatment has been very impactful to patients who have already utilized the service.

Because of the results we’re seeing, **Neuro Therapy pricing will be increasing soon.**

**March is the last opportunity to begin care at the current introductory rate.**

If you’ve been dealing with brain fog, headaches, or trouble focusing, it may be worth exploring whether Neuro Therapy could help.

📞 Call our office at (717) 867-4000 to schedule a Neuro Consultation, or ask about it at your next visit.

Why do old injuries keep coming back every spring?

If something starts hurting every time you become more active again, this may explain why.

We see this pattern every year.

As activity increases — golf, running, cycling, yard work — old injuries often resurface.

A shoulder that never fully healed.
A knee that tightens when activity increases.
An ankle that still feels unstable.
A back that “acts up” when you start doing more.

This usually isn’t random.

When an injury doesn’t heal completely, the body begins to compensate.

Scar tissue forms.
Joint mechanics change.
Surrounding muscles start working harder to stabilize the area.

For a while, the body adapts.

But when activity increases again, those compensation patterns get stressed — and symptoms return.

At Synergy Health, our goal is to identify what never fully healed and stimulate the body’s natural repair process so the issue stops repeating itself.

That’s why we use therapies such as:

• Shockwave Therapy
• MLS Laser Therapy
• Massage Therapy

These approaches help restore tissue function and promote healing rather than simply masking symptoms.

If something tends to flare up every time you become more active, it may be a sign the original injury never fully resolved.

Spring is the best time to address it — before it starts limiting your season.

📞 Call (717) 867-4000 or ask us about an injury evaluation at your next visit.

Have you ever noticed an old injury flare up the moment you become more active again?
