Snow is here—and so is Advent, said Rev. Scott Cartwright, Benedictine director of spiritual care, as he reflected on the season of Advent. Just as Minnesota snow is inevitable, so is the season of Advent, a time to embrace hope, peace, joy, and love. From Nov. 30 to Dec. 24, Christians reflect on Jesus’ coming and look forward with anticipation to his return. At Benedictine, we live these themes daily—through hopeful waiting, courageous peace-making, resilient joy, and self-giving love.

This month our Thankful Tree was filled with leaves of gratitude! From a suggestion by our residents, we installed a Thankful Tree this month so that residents, family, and staff could celebrate in all the things they are grateful for. We had an incredible response and received so many thankful leaves.
