Sinte Gleska University's Sicangu Native Connections knows that su***de prevention should be a reservation-wide priority and that in order for us to see an effective transformation, services must be consistent, dedicated, timely, on-going and on a collaborative basis. Our goal is twofold: 1) to design a cohesive and collaborative approach to mental health; 2) to institutionalize the approach so

that all tribal and other agencies acting on behalf of the Sicangu Oyate work to reduce substance use/abuse among all residence so that an improved environment leads to a reduction in mental and physical illness, especially a reduction in su***de completions, attempts, and ideations among children and youth ages 5-24.
