As someone who grew up in the late 90’s/early 2000’s, I wish this had been a poster in every school hallway. Acne is caused by SOOOOO many things. Many times my acne bootcamp clients are trying to do the right things to clear their skin, they’re just missing it by a couple of strategies.

Sure, incorrect products can lead to more breakouts or just plain not working, but the majority of the time we are looking at improper cleansing routines, hormonal shifts, barrier damage, stress, or environmental/lifestyle factors (energy drinks, vitamins, laundry detergent).

Acne can be confusing, annoying, and heartbreaking. Let me help you clear your skin today. Use the link in my bio to book your acne bootcamp consultation.

Hey… your cortisol called and left a message. It’s going to show up on your skin in the form of breakouts, inflammation, and uneven skin tone.

Yes, stress and your skin are connected. Stress can trigger a number of symptoms on your skin, usually acne related but it can truly look different for everyone. I will be honest with you though, until you learn to control your stress, your skin will never look the way you want it to. I know that sounds harsh but it’s true.

What you heal on the inside will heal the outside. I highly recommend finding things that bring you joy, slowing down, breathing properly (half of us are doing this wrong daily), and of course booking your self a monthly facial with me to to not only treat the outside skin concerns but also to give your mind and body a break.

Let’s start calming your mind and your skin. Book your facial today by using the link in my bio.

Healing your skin shouldn’t be confusing. Take it one step at a time.

Healing takes time. I wish it could be instantly but it could take as long as a couple weeks to undo damage.

It takes more than just a moisturizer. Yes, you need the protection of a moisturizer, but everyone needs hydration first. Your moisturizer can’t reach deeper down into your skin cells, its job is to sit on top. Invest in a hydrating/soothing serum to wear under your moisturizer morning and night.

Less is more. I know, everyone has a 7 step routine right now because an influencer with glass skin does that. And don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of steps in my routine occasionally too. But for every day use, you need a gentle cleanser, the serum I mentioned above, and a moisturizer. The other stuff is extra. It’s fun and sometimes necessary but it’s extra.

If you’re experiencing a damaged barrier or don’t know where to begin with your skin, DM me today. Ready for your skin treatment? Book your facial today using the link in my bio.

“My skin didn’t clear after my facial from you” “I am purging and freaking out” “I got a facial from you two months ago and my skin still doesn’t look better”

Your facial is a jumpstart to healthier skin. What you do at home is what’s going to make a difference. This is like going to the dentist twice a year and not brushing your teeth in between. What do you think is going to happen? You see and touch your face way more than I do, you have to help it out too.

Don’t get me wrong, facials are super important to your overall skin health but they can only do so much. This goes for any skin concern, not just acne.

Let’s be real. Every service I offer can be tailored to helping with hyperpigmentation. That’s the beauty of using real and raw ingredients that are customized for you in the moment. But if I had to pick a favorite, it would be these two:

1. Glo2 90 or 120- this facial harnesses the power of oxygen. You get the three step Geneo system of oxypod, ultrasound, and lymphatic massage. Your skin is left instantly brighter and smoother and leaves the surface of your skin ready to use and absorb your home care at a better level.

2. Skin Renewal Peels- this in-and-out service is great for those that don’t want downtime but want the results of a chemical peel. These peels are customized to what you want (brighter skin/even texture) and leave you with fresh new skin.

Both facials listed above are perfect for anyone dealing with dark spots from aging, sun damage, post-inflammatory (acne) pigmentation, or uneven skin tone.

I LOVE acids. I love exfoliation. I love removing the dead skin cells that are holding you back from your best life.

So, how do we exfoliate/resurface without ruining your skin? It’s all about balance.

You should be coming in for a facial at least once a month to keep up with the dead skin removal. At home, you should have some maintenance exfoliation (gentle enzymes/acids) to keep up with consistent cellular turnover. You know you have over exfoliated when your skin gets dry, red, or itchy.

Yes, exfoliating is safe for acne and highly encouraged with the right treatment plan. Please see a professional for help.

No. Less is more (usually) when it comes to exfoliation. I see so many damaged skin barriers because y’all are doing too much. Keep it simple.

Unfortunately, acne can’t be cleared overnight. I would be a billionaire if I could make that happen.

In most cases, acne takes about 3 months to form under your skin and then comes to the surface, that means that it can also take up to 3 months to completely clear.

Consistency is key with any skin concern but especially when it comes to clearing acne. You can’t just get one facial, you need consistent support, home care, and a treatment plan for the most effective route to happier and healthier skin.

Ready to get started? DM me today to schedule your first acne bootcamp consultation.

Is your skin upset? Red, itchy, tight, flaky?
Healing mode basics:

Use a gentle cleanser- skip the exfoliation or treatment cleanser and keep things simple.

Pause exfoliation- no enzymes, chemicals, or scrubs.

Use barrier-supporting serums- peptides and ceramides are your friend.

Consistency over chaos- stick with your routine, now is not the time to introduce anything new.

Calm skin heals faster. Ready for your calming routine? Book your facial today.

Over-exfoliation can happen to anyone at any time. I see it a lot more in the colder/dryer months than spring/summer.

When it comes down to it, avoid exfoliating for a few days to a week (check with your esti) and focus only on hydrating and protecting your skin.

Invest in a heavier moisturizer but don’t forget a repairing/hydrating serum underneath. Balms/moisturizers can’t get deep into your skin cells which can leave your skin red, flaky, and angry.

If you’re experiencing over-exfoliation, reach out to me today for help with your home care and treatment options.

My three favorite regimens to support your skin while trying to brighten pigmentation.

There’s really no right or wrong products when it comes to treating hyperpigmentation. I always recommend a brightening and an exfoliating serum that can work together to lighten from the inside out.

Remember that there are many forms of hyperpigmentation and that what lies under the surface is what is hardest to treat.

Oh, and don’t forget your SPF!

Listen, I love trying and buying new products more than anyone. I am a true skincare junkie— BUT, constantly changing up your routine can often times lead to more bad than good.

It is better to have a core product regimen and use it consistently (as long as it’s working) than to keep trying something new to “fix” your skin. You need to focus on supporting your skin where it’s at instead of trying all the new things all the time.

I recommend finding the following products to use on a consistent basis and keeping up with the routine every day. You need to give new products at least 2 weeks to know if it’s working or making your skin worse.

Gentle cleanser- this should be used morning and night.
Exfoliation- either a serum, mask, or enzyme to use a few times a week or nightly depending on what it is.
Antioxidant- this is usually in the form of a serum. Look for both protection and hydration.
Protection- moisturizer to use both morning and night. You can go heavier at night but you need to use this daily.

Ready for a customized regimen? DM me today with your skin concerns and goals to get started today.
