We are incredibly concerned about the upcoming freeze of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program on November 1st. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps Minnesotans with low incomes, including temporary low incomes, get the food they need for nutritious and well-balanced meals. The program provides extra support to help stretch a household’s food budget. Access to food is an essential human right. Access to food is part of the foundation of health both physically and mentally.

We believe in being part of a community where people show up for each other. That’s why we support The Open Door. They provide fresh, healthy food to over 20,000 people in Dakota County each month – weaving a safety net for families that is more important now than ever. That is why we have elected to be a donation site for the next month to collect as much as we can to support their mission and our community. Please note food pantries will not be able to meet the needs alone when SNAP benefits stop. Urge your legislators to take action before these benefits pause on November 1st.

Our donation collection will occur in our lobby until November 21st. Let us know if you would like more information on Open Door Pantry and their most desired needs at this time.

We had just the most amazing time at Daisy Day 2025 with yesterday. We enjoyed advocating for perinatal mental health, connecting with community resources and having a little fun too!

Mindful Monday Practice 🌿

Today, with intention, we slowed down. We took the morning to walk mindfully among the trees. We listened to the sounds around us. We let ourselves hear our thoughts. We gazed in awe of the life before our eyes. Spotted a blooming flower, a split tree root displaying its years of wisdom and slow moving turtle reminding us to make way for those around us.

We were grateful for this moment. With love, we encourage you to take your moment today. ☀️🌳💙

We were recently asked as a mental health clinic what sets us apart from the big name, online therapy platforms? While we are excited that mental health care is being de-stigmatized and more accessible with increased access to care, we do believe there is a difference between local and national care. I believe one thing that sets us apart is our active and committed engagement to the communities we serve. Our providers live and work in the south metro. We participate in local events. We connect with policy makers, community shareholders and organizations to better serve the mental health needs of families. We keep a pulse on what’s happening in our community and show up where we are needed. Our mission is and has always been to help our individuals and families bloom, grow and thrive, which in turn helps our communities!

Today our clinic leader has the opportunity to attend the Apple Valley State of the City address. It was a wonderful way to hear all the ways Apple Valley is committed to making its city a connected, active and safe place for residents and businesses.

This question comes up a lot in therapy and I wanted to share a few distinctions. Anxiety is a feeling that shows up when uncomfortable and unknown situations. If a decision is rooted in fear, its anxiety. Intuition is a deep sense of knowing rooted in our beliefs, values, feelings, instincts as well as energy and connection to this world.

As a therapist, I enjoy reading not only to learn more about how to support my clients but also to explore my own curiosity about human experiences. Right now I am exploring the "end of life" including stories, rituals, traditions and education on how one leaves this earth.
