Aayus Holistic Health Services

Aayus Holistic Health Services Welcome! Proud mommy to 9 year old Eliana, 4 year old Theo, and and wife of Matthew Normansell of Eden Wild Food. Megan M.

Megan Normansell and Jamie Sillas are Certified Holistic Practitioners and Herbalists, helping people to accomplish vibrant health, naturally and sustainably, serving Wisconson for 17 years. I am a mother, wife, wild food & mushroom forager, hiker, blogger, activist, painter, thrifter, antique collector, and health practitioner from Appleton, Wisconsin. I have studied Naturopathic Medicine & Practitioner Studies at Clayton College of Natural Health, studied nutrition at the University of Florida, and have received my degree & certification to practice Holistic Health Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. I received my certification as a Certified Family Herbalist at The School of Natural Healing in Utah. I've had the opportunity to train one-on-one with a multitude of wonderful foraging and herbal experts from around the world. My husband and I teach wild edibles & wild medicine foraging classes, and our unique herbal products are wild harvested locally and made by hand. With 18 years of experience under my belt, I am an expert in utilizing bioindividually appropriate and targeted nutritional supplementation & herbal medicines to assist in reaching your health goals. I am board certified with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. My education is unique in that it integrates all major dietary theories – combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies like Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine with modern concepts like veganism, paleo, Weston Price diet, FODMAP, macrobiotics, food energetics, the glycemic index, raw foods, and so many more. I use a total of 115 different dietary theories to find the exact combination my clients need! I am equipped to help you bridge the gap between modern medicine and natural, holistic healing to achieve true health and balance. Some of my instructors include Dr. Walter Willet, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. Thanks for visiting, and don’t hesitate to contact me if I can help you in any way! Normansell, CHC, CFH, AADP

If you don't already have your cranberry sauce made this Thanksgiving, this is such a simple way to make it fresh, local, inexpensive, delicious and homemade. Add a bag of fresh Wisconsin cranberries to a pot with a couple tablespoons of water. Cook on medium heat and stir until they get to this consistency, and add about four spoonfuls of raw honey. Voila!

Product spotlight: The Herbalist's Breastfeeding Blend!

This is specially designed to encourage milk production in lactating mothers, and I developed it while I was nursing my first baby. 🤱 It helped me nurse both of my littles for two years each!
It is made with some of my favorite locally harvested lactogenic herbs such as blue vervain and nettle, in a special alcohol-free formula.

Now is the best time to harvest rose hips! Rose hips have over 8x the vitamin c of oranges (426 mg of vitamin c per 3/4 cup rose hips) and 2.6x the lycopene of tomatoes.
This serving also contains 429 mg of potassium, 2001 mg of lutein/zeaxanthin, & 145% daily value vitamin A. I like wild harvesting mine, but dried rose hips are easily accessible at many health food stores and websites and make a great tea. After the first frost they get a bit of a "shock" which dramatically increases vitamin C content- harvest them right after!

Spiced chaga tea is where it's at this fall! 🍄🍂 Simply make your wild Wisconsin chaga tea as directed (each order from us comes with instructions) and then add a bag of mulling spices like these in the last five minutes of cooking. I picked this box up at World Market in Appleton. Top it off with a bit of pure maple syrup or maple sugar and you'll forget pumpkin spice lattes ever existed. 😉 Chaga is also a great option for those trying to reduce or avoid caffeine, but still want a coffee- like flavor.
Benefits of chaga: immune support and immune modulation, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, supports healthy blood pressure and cholesterol, has compounds with anti-cancer properties, and many more. Plus, all of ours is hand harvested locally!

Perfect fall meal. Organic cabbage, carrots, sausage, and wild porcini seasoned with garlic, Himalayan salt, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Added some wild kelp that we harvested for a mineral boost, and a dollop of probiotic-rich organic sour cream. 🥕🍄
And did you know.... eating garlic, cabbage, and onions are the best pre-biotics you can get? (no need for the pre-biotic supplements!)
