Always honored to be at a conference focused on the concept that active threats impact every corner of our community. An integrated, collaborative response saves lives and I believe mental health must be part of that response.

As a clinician working alongside law enforcement, first responders, I’m here to learn, strengthen partnerships, and ensure psychological wellness and trauma-informed care are embedded in how we prepare, respond, and recover.

Because resilience isn’t built in silos; it’s built together.

One of my favorite nights.

Supporting the men and women of the City of Neenah, Wisconsin Police Department is an honor I don’t take lightly. What often goes unseen is the amount of work these officers and staff put into their mental health—showing up tired, stressed, and carrying the weight of the job, yet choosing to engage, reflect, and grow. Their dedication to wellness is a powerful form of courage and speaks volumes about their character.

“No member ever stands alone- now or ever.”

We are mourning the heartbreaking loss of two of our own: Fire Fighter/Paramedic Daria Deibele and Fire Fighter/Paramedic Tom Diener. These dedicated professionals served their communities with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of others. Their service reflected the very best of our profession, and their loss is felt deeply across the fire service, by their families, coworkers, and the public they so selflessly protected. We extend our deepest condolences to their loved ones and stand with their departments during this incredibly difficult time.

PFFW cares deeply for our members and recognizes that loss within our fire service family can take a profound toll. Any member needing support is encouraged to utilize the PFFW Peer Support Team, available at any time, day or night. Additionally, your local president and PFFW liaison are always available to assist and connect you with resources. No member ever stands alone—now or ever.

I’ve never been a “hide my expression” type of therapist - especially if you tell me you’re getting 3 hours of sleep at night.

I will “😬😳🫠” you.

37% of first responders have a sleep disorder (insomnia or excessive sleeping)

Don’t believe me? It’s in your bloodwork.

Just come fix it.
