We love to have fun in the gym too🏋️♀️ - we wouldn't be here if we didn't! But be wise in your exercise habits so that you reach your goals without sacrificing long-term function.
There's something called the F.I.T.T. principal:
F - Frequency
I - Intensity
T - Time (duration)
T- Type (method)
Sadly, the fitness industry has become more about participation than people. It targets groups versus the individual. Each of you has as story and it's wise to treat exercise like medicine. Each person needs a specifically prescribed type and dose.
We agree with The Gray Institute in that the exercise selection, volume and intensity performed should stimulate the body and desired musculature to achieve a purpose.
Going to "failure" every workout or comparing sweat & soreness isn't a strategy. It's self-harm.
