Looking for a creative way to get your kiddo some exercise and to learn a new skill? We have really enjoyed working with Carl at the Wisconsin Academy of Sports. Our youngest son participated in a casual fall soccer league and we felt he would benefit from some more formal training. Carl has worked with him 1:1 and was patient, creative, provided an individualized training plan, and made it such a great experience. Consider checking them out!

Florence Nightingale is considered the founder of modern nursing and set a tremendous example. She once said "Were there none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach anything better." She encouraged us (nurses and all people!) to seek ongoing education, information, and to be curious for how things can be better or different.

Without all of us banding together to change healthcare, we'd be stuck! Keep insisting on healthcare freedom whenever and wherever you seek care!

📣New product alert

For those who struggle with elbow pain (often called tennis elbow or golfers elbow), there's a new device that can help!

It's called Fiix Body. My husband has been trialing it for the past 6 weeks - the daily deep ache he was experiencing is gone. He still has pain to work through, but he can feel the improvement day to day.

In physical therapy, fascial blading is a technique to help with tendon inflammation or areas of tension. This device performs concentrated blading over the problem spots within the elbow anatomy.

You can't beat the help of hands on Physical Therapy - so this doesn't replace that. But this provides at-home therapy that you can use anytime. And the device comes with access to exercises that change throughout your recovery timeline along with an app to guide you!

To Löyly Patients and Families,

We’re going strong at more than 3.5 years together! The top priority when opening Löyly was (and is) to provide care that advocates for health freedom and a patient-first mindset without exception. My training is Family Practice and that has remained my passion - growing as time goes by. Although I have a preference for holistic healthcare when possible, I am a traditionally trained NP who balances medical intervention with home remedies and don’t intend to fill a Functional/Integrative/Naturopathic space clinically. In effort to maximize my ability to stay focused as a resource for those who need primary care, I have a few announcements for the future!

Tabitha will be closing to new patients as of 11/1/25.
➡️Exceptions: family members of existing patients, expectant mothers, newborns, Keller employees

Löyly will continue to offer hormone testing when clinically appropriate and upon request, but will not offer prescription hormone replacement therapy. I do have resources to recommend if this is your goal.
➡️Exceptions: expectant mothers with clinical need for progesterone support, existing HRT patients.

There will be an office visit fee of $50 for any appointments that are for lab draws only, plus the fees for the labs.
➡️Exceptions: follow up lab work related to annual physical or re-checks that I am recommending for treatment decisions
🩸With the lab services we added in March 2025, I can now run lab work through insurance while still drawing it in my office if that is your preference.

Consideration for a new provider…after long consideration, to expand office hours and capacity, we are exploring the idea of adding another provider to offer Family Practice clinic hours within the Löyly Family Practice model. This person would be like-minded and would be taking on new patients. Existing patients of Tabitha will have the option to schedule with the new provider or to stay with her.
➡️This allows greater hours per week for clinic times and allows for better coverage during times of vacation.
➡️No changes to service offerings or pricing is anticipated.

I continue to see a huge need for health freedom focused providers and there’s no shortage of patients who feel pressured in their current healthcare setting and need a change. A new provider in the clinic will need to share that perspective.

We are grateful and excited to be at this place in clinic growth and all of these decisions have been poured over and prayed over for months. Andy and I feel confident that this is the next best move to continue to serve families most effectively.

🎵… “these are a few of my favorite things…” 🎶

Summer is nearly here! With summer comes risk of:
🚲 road rash from new bicycle riders
☀️ sunburns
🦟 bites
🌱 poison ivy and oak
And more!

I’m including in the comments links to some examples of my favorites. I’m not tied to most of the brands, just wanted to give an idea of the product!

Neosporin isn’t ideal for first line treatment of road rash or suspected skin infections. Why?

“Neosporin, usually used for superficial wound infections, is widely known to cause allergic contact reactions.” NIH article also in comments. Google “Neosporin skin reactions” and you’ll find a bunch more!

Road rash: I love to use non-stick Adaptic. It’s a gauze that’s made with Vaseline embedded in it so it won’t stick! Then wrap with koban to avoid a painful adhesive to remove.

Sunburn or bites: Skin Smart spray is great for temporary itch or burn relief! And pure aloe. If you don’t have a plant at home, there’s a range of products on the market!

Cuts or abrasions that you’re concerned about potential infection: Medical Manuka Honey is terrific! It stings just a little at first, but really works quick for healing. It’s sticky!

Plant rashes: Calamine or Manuka or Skin Smart spray all work well.

Hopefully these will help give you some ideas for your summer first aid kit!

Most important - get outside and make the most of these summer days in the sun!

👋I'd like to introduce you all to my friend Susan! She has been a professional colleague since 2012, and a friend for the same amount of time! We have kept in contact since I left my corporate healthcare position in 2021, and she's the perfect person to help me as Löyly continues to grow.

🖥Susan will be helping all of us remotely with things like paperwork and payment processing as well as answering non-clinical questions! I will remain the first point of contact for clinical questions, urgent needs, and in-clinic interactions.

⌨️Susan has experience in trauma data abstraction, medical billing, and is an EMT with years of volunteer first responder service under her belt. 🩺
