Funerals help you find your footing when everything feels upside down.

Familiar acts like lighting a candle, sharing communion, or walking together to the graveside become stepping stones that help you move forward.

We'll walk you through meaningful traditions, one step at a time. And if you'd like to create something entirely new, we'll help you build that too.

What tradition has brought you the most comfort?

What would you want people to hear at your funeral or celebration of life?

Maybe you want your favorite hymn sung, or maybe you'd rather have everyone listen to that song you played on repeat for years. Some people choose scripture passages that shaped them, others prefer poetry or even a passage from a book they loved. Your service works best when it sounds like you.

Your family will remember hearing those specific songs and words long after the funeral ends. Telling them what feels right gives them confidence they're honoring you the way you'd want. And if you don't have strong preferences, letting them know they can choose freely is a gift too.

"Can we hold a viewing before cremation?" Absolutely.
You can have a viewing with cremation, and families choose this option all the time. You can also have a full funeral service before cremation if that feels right for your family.
A viewing lets family and friends gather, see your loved one one last time, and share support together. You can hold a viewing alone or as part of a full service. We prepare your loved one with the same care we use for burial. Afterward, we complete the cremation. This gives you both the time together you need and the flexibility cremation offers.

❤️ When a cardiac emergency happens, every minute matters. Recognizing the signs, calling 911, starting CPR, and using an AED before EMS arrives can make all the difference.

🚑 At Gold Cross, we see the impact of early action every day, and we’re committed to delivering expert cardiac care and empowering our community to be part of the chain of survival.

📆 During American Heart Month, we'll be sharing more about how survival is a team effort and how bystanders can be prepared to act during a cardiac emergency. Learn more here: https://heyor.ca/DWdLkH

Older children and teens often want to share something special about the person who died. Inviting them to speak during the funeral gives them a chance to do that in a way that feels personal. They might tell a favorite memory, read a poem, or say a few words about what their loved one meant to them. Having a voice in the service helps them feel like a valued part of the farewell.

Young people approach this differently - some want to speak themselves, others prefer to write something for someone else to read, and some choose to honor their loved one simply by being present and listening. We're here to help you find what feels right for each child or teen in your family.

Maybe you’ve been unsure whether a funeral is needed, especially when life feels upside down. The truth is a large formal service isn't always necessary.
