The gender pay gap could take until 2056 to close, according to a new study. General secretary Paul Nowak from Trades Union Congress said, “With the cost of living still biting hard, women simply can’t afford to keep losing out. They deserve their fair share”.

For those who call the gender pay gap a myth, it’s a very real thing equating to around £2,458 a year, with the gap widening as women get older and typically take on more unpaid caring responsibilities.
