April Newsletter
Spring has sprung!!! We are so over winter and ready for some green nature to surround us!! As we transition into the warmer months we have some exciting things going on in each of our locations!
Seeds, seeds, seeds!! We have our hand harvested seeds available at all of our stores and ready for you to put them in the soil! Get some fun and rare medicinal plants started for your garden.
Speaking of plants!!....April 13 is plant appreciation day! It's the perfect day to come in and buy one of our adorable house plants! All of them were started in Aurora's sunny laboratory and are ready for you to take them home and give them some loving. (Don't give the cactuses too much loving or you could be pulling spikes out of your fingers) lol
Keep an eye on our social media on the 14th, which is national Garden day. I'll be asking you to put up a picture of your garden. I love seeing how other people are growing their plants. If you need some help and inspiration with planning your Herb garden you can join Aurora's class on the 18th!
April 19 is national garlic day so stay tuned on our social media for an informative host about the medicinal qualities on one of my all-time favorite herbs.
April 21 is national tea day so come to the store for a buy two regular sized teas and get $3 off!!
April 22 is of course Earth Day and we are celebrating with a sale if you buy $25 of any of our natural household cleaning and body products you get five dollars off here's a list of them: Dryer Balls, any of our Anti Plague products, reusable sponges,
On the 24th is Arbor Day and we will be putting up a post telling you about the trees that yield medicines

Herb of the Month
~Licorice~
Glycyrrhiza glabra
April 12 is Licorice day and they are probably talking about the candy, which of course started with the herb.
Licorice root is widely used for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and soothing properties, often addressing digestive issues (ulcers, heartburn), respiratory ailments (cough, bronchitis), and skin conditions (eczema).
Key Medicinal Uses of Licorice Root
Digestive Health: Acts as a natural remedy for heartburn, bloating, nausea, and peptic ulcers. Deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) is specifically used for long-term stomach issues.
Respiratory Support: Helps soothe sore throats and treat respiratory conditions like coughs and bronchitis.
Skin Care: Topical applications (creams/gels) are used to treat skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis due to its anti-inflammatory effects.
Oral Health: Licorice extract in mouthwash may reduce canker sore pain, combat bad breath, and aid in reducing plaque.
Anti-inflammatory & Immune Support: Used for lowering cholesterol, reducing inflammation in the stomach, and potentially alleviating menopausal symptoms.
Important Safety Information
Side Effects: Excessive consumption can cause high blood pressure, salt retention, and low potassium levels, which can lead to heart rhythm issues.
Drug Interactions: It may interact with medications, including blood pressure meds, diuretics, and blood thinners.

Come in and pick out which awesome little herb plants you would like to grow this year. Each year Aurora carefully watches over her plants and right before the plant is about to scatter their seeds onto the ground, she gently harvests them so that she (and you) can start them in the spring and make new babies!
