At 9 lbs of pure perfection, this handsome baby boy was born peacefully at home in the water—surrounded by calm, strength, and so much love. And then there’s big sister Josephine... The way she snuggles her baby brother already says it all. There is truly no love like the love of an older sister—protective, tender, and completely unmatched. This 10 lb 10 oz big, beautiful boy belongs to a family that is truly near and dear to our hearts. From start to finish, Whittaker had plans of his own—plans none of us could have predicted—and his labor and birth were full of surprises every step of the way!
At the end of the day, a healthy, chunky baby boy safely in mom's arms is the real icing on the cake. We feel incredibly blessed to know this family so well and to walk alongside them during such a powerful, unforgettable season of life. Welcome to the world, Whittaker!

Welcome, sweet Baby Shepherd đź’™

Born at the birth center, this handsome boy arrived weighing 8 lb 6 oz and brought so much joy with him. This family found their way to BirthWise very late in pregnancy after feeling uncomfortable with the growing pressure toward induction in a standard hospital setting. We moved quickly—gathering records, creating a clear plan, and most importantly helping mom feel truly connected with and supported by her midwives. In her body’s own perfect timing, her water broke in the middle of the night… and by mid-afternoon, she had her baby in her arms. A beautiful, calm water birth

Midwife Gina arrived at 4:54 AM… and just two minutes later, sweet Juneau made the most beautiful entrance into the world at 4:56 AM—born peacefully in the water and caught by dad’s own hands. Beautiful Ella, weighing 7 lb 5 oz, was born to first-time parents after a journey that showed just how flexible, thoughtful, and supportive birth can be. đź’•

What began as a planned home birth shifted to a planned hospital birth when mom developed factors that made it safest and most supportive for our midwives to walk alongside her in the hospital setting. This kind of collaboration is such an important part of quality care.

We are deeply thankful for our hospital-based providers who respect physiologic birth and offer compassionate, excellent care to our transfer families. When everyone works together, families feel supported, no matter where birth unfolds.
