If there’s one movement I wish every single patient would do every day, it’s Cat-Cow.
It’s simple, it’s gentle, and it gives your spine the kind of nourishment it’s begging for—especially if you’ve been sitting, stressing, or holding tension in your body (aka… all of us).
Here’s why I love it so much:
• It brings flexibility back into your spine, neck, and shoulders—those places that stiffen up the minute life gets overwhelming.
• It melts tension in your upper, mid, and lower back and gives your neck some sweet relief.
• It opens the chest, belly, and hips, helping your posture rebalance and reducing those aches you keep ignoring.
• It gently strengthens the arms, wrists, and spinal support muscles so your posture holds better throughout the day.
• It gives your organs a little massage, supporting digestion and the whole abdominal system.
• When you pair it with slow, intentional breathing, it shifts your nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into calm.
• It builds body awareness—helping you feel where you’re tight, where you’re compensating, and where your spine needs attention.
• And it’s the perfect warm-up before a workout, a walk, or even a long day at your desk.
When you do Cat-Cow regularly, your spine moves better, your posture improves, your stress softens, and your whole body just… exhales.
